A step in the wrong direction

That is not the point, which I will congratulate you in diverting from.

The points and issues are not about terrorism and how China chose to deal with it, but about suppressing open debate on China's policy in dealing with terrorism.

You can effectively close the debate by saying you support the oppression of the press in China. Simple as that. Your land, your rules.

You got the point. But, ....If the editor break laws, the court still has rights of sueing him.
So far, the editor received a party punishment, expelled from CCP. The court will inquire his break of laws.

.
Where do you get the number millions? Why not billions?

You must understand that this is revolution. All revolutions are bloody. British Capitalism Revolution, French Revolution, American Revolution and Chinese Revolution. Bloody revolutions cost lives, but it makes the nation rise rapidly. This is why P5 sits permanent seats and rule this planets, while countries like Japan and India can only whine.

Cultural Revolution is the most least bloody form. Without revolution, there will never be rise of India.

Only revolution can motivate billions of low class people in India. Otherwise, the only choice for India is to ignore those billions of people, and have the 10% high class people become servants of P5 and get a high income life, just like Taiwan, Hong Kong or Japan are doing.

And also Russia revolution. Gorbachev denies the importance of Russian revolution. Russia falls rapidly.

Why not go there then i mean what we are saying is recorded facts over your very obvious chinese revolutionary propaganda but facts are if you like i can site examples of bloodless revolutions the Philippine EDSA revolution that was bloodless or the Solidarity movement in poland etc example of Bloodless revolution well you people are had my chinese troll so suck it and am sorry revolutionary education is big fat lie but you get over it in time.

You can make any law you want. For example, the US can make a law that says all left handers will be imprisoned if they reveal their left-handedness in public. But would that law be just ?

China can make a law that says no policies of the Chinese government can be discussed by the public. Your land, your rule. But would YOU -- personally -- support such a law ?

In our beliefs, the role of the press is to invite public discussions of governmental policies. If your beliefs are different, then all YOU have to do is tell us -- in this public forum -- that YOU support government control of the press in China.

The fate of Soviet Union and China also proved the validity of Cultural Revolution. Mao started to consider Cultural Revoltion after the development of Soviet Union post Stalin. Mao sensed the trouble and he predicted that soviet Union would deteriorate in the peaceful time. He believed that Soviet Union would collapse in several decades since people in the peaceful time would forget the importance of the revolution and the revolution was not consolidated culturally. This was when Soviet Union and China departed in the ideology. He tried a test movement called Anti-Right movement, which was pre-cursor of Cultural Revolution. Actually Deng was the chief executive for this movement. If you understand this, you would understand how determined Deng was to crack down 1989 movement. The difference of Deng and Mao was only one the scale of Cultural Revolution.

The current difference between Russia and China clearly proved Mao's vision in 1950s was so correct.

.
In All revolutions, anyone who wanted to ride above people got killed. In cultural revolution, anyone who thought that he was above people was denounced publicly, no matter whether you were rich, powerful, or intellectual or representing god. Religions promoting inequality among priests and people are denounced.
Yes...Am sure you believe that is all that happened back then. I take it despite living in the US, you never picked up a book that tell the other side of the Cultural Revolution. In a way, that is sad.

No, Mao was worried because he thought same things will happen with him, that happened with Stalin.

Stalin was a brutal dictator, who killed half of his own party comrades, to strengthen his control over the party.

Similarly, Mao worried that similar things can happen to him, especially after his failures in the Great Leap Forward.

That's why in Chinese textbook, it is very straightforward that rulers make the law. People only have the law sitting on their side if people can overturn the government. Chinese textbooks are possibly the only textbooks in this world which teach you how to overturn a government. In China, people are not afraid of polices and officials while in USA, people meet police like mices meet cats.

Which is the reason that China will not succeed and will not be stable.

Only stable governments and countries can amount to much, and for a stable government one needs a system that is inclusive, and invited all people and groups and ideas in.

You are brainwashed. Mao started worry when Soviet Union invaded in Czechoslovakia in 1956. he felt that Sovient Union had deteriorated and started to not treat other socialist countries equally.
If Mao wanted to become like a Stalin, then why he started to phase out in 1962 and tried to put Liu as the next Successors. But Liu started to Challenge just after several years even when he was just No. 2. Liu's mistake caused China a smooth transition of power. Then Mao determined that smooth transition of power was not allowed in Chinese cultures. He decided to push for cultural revolution in full speed.

Son, you obviously do not know Americans very well. If you are living in the US, I feel sorry for you for living in such a sheltered existence.

Why you sound so excited? Have you know clearly what the editor remarks in press? I living in China has not yet read what he comments about terrorism.

And he is not a normal reporter/editor of a media, he is leadership of a media.

Qing dynasty was very stable until the invasion of west. But it was a dead water. Without the coming of the West, Chinese people, or even the whole East Asia, we thought that we had found the best solution for human society.

In Ming dynasty, one Chinese emperor didn't come to any official meetings for nearly 30 years. But China still went very well. China won three major wars during his term, including the one with Japan. Chinese Navy crushed Japan easily and Japan had to remain peaceful for 400 years. People also lived happily. Chinese political system could run so perfectly even when the emperor was idle.

Now it has proven that this was just an ideology trap. Compared to the west, China was just a dead water. India is in this kind of ideology trap. Only revolution can break this kind of ideology trap.

Stable is not equal to development. Usually when the country rises rapidly, it is not stable since the society changes so rapidly, people are difficult to catch up. When United States rose rapidly from 1860 to 1890s to become No. 1 manufacturing power, it also looked unstable. Assassination of presidents happened frequently. Just by looking at those Gold West movies, you can understand it.

Chinese government promotes revolution and reform because we don't repeat the same history and get into an ideology trap. The West has started to fall because it started to defame revolutions and call revolutionaries bloody murders. It thinks that it has found universal values. But China has experienced this and think this may be just an ideology trap. This is why the idea of universal values is not very welcomed in China and voices calling for color revolutions are meanless.

Pls compare Chinese Xingjiang with Assam, other Northeastern states and Kashmir in India. We are tired of your Chinese this and Chinese that. We ruled Xingjiang and Tibet hundreds of years, while you only have had hands on those princely states siafter 1940s through your master British.

The guy you cited was the party secretary of the newspaper or magzine. He was put there by the CCP to look after the political rightness for the CCP. If he did not do the job right the CCP would of course remove him.

You do not understand United States well because you do not have comparisons. For me as a Chinese citizens living as PR in United States, I compare every details in United States with China. There is a chinese saying: Sideliners can watch more clearly. I can see good things and bad things of United States through comparisons.

All the more reason for you to worry, why there is such violence happening in those areas. Also, why you are not able to convince everyone to maintain unity.

What are the good things?
