A Homeland for Indian Muslims

Not the country.

Forget the grouping you are trying to conjure. It does not exist.

There are only Hindus. With their 'way of life'. And minorities primarily Muslims who are the eternal villains.

The moral compass of the Muslims have not gone astray. Grouping the whole 'country' to have lost morality is incorrect.

See. You are a decent person.

But you and us are not the same nation. We were never meant to be.

Religion, for instance and culture are some of the core values that make us - us. We are not - at least I am not in a position to forsake that.
Fair enough- And I respect your take on this- I respectfully agree to disagree.

That is why we learn to live in multicultural societies. Not being the same, should not be always viewed negatively.

Our problem is not the differing nations or cultures, but rather the lack of justice and the unequal application of laws.

I know you are going to respond now that Hindu society is the reason because of the above. Oh well....we can't win all arguments can we?

Muslim India can be multicultural.

Why not?

There may be Kashmiris, Gujaratis, Bengalis.

But a unifying thread that says La ilaha illallah.

And no Hindu to take offence at that.

I wonder if the Mods here would have let a thread advocating separatism of Pakistan to run for 33 pages over several weeks ? :coffee:
Muslims of Sri Lanka was perhaps the only group more demonised, when compared to Indian Muslims. Your record is worse.

ii. secular India - who will enforce secularism?

The enforcers will be the courts who will read from an amended Constitution.

The current definition of Secularism in the Indian Constitution has led to a situation where it is "I will not talk of your religious pollution as long as you don't talk of my religious pollution".

And of Socialism it is a limited definition of the economic part.

The Indian Supreme Court should take inspiration from some Progressive multi-community societies like Syria and pre-2003 Iraq and amend the Constitution to fully describe a Secular and Socialist society.

iv. Islamic rashtra - ideal, but this is utopian as well.

What is your understanding of an Islamic rashtra ??

OK, many of these studies were superfluous but Kanhaiya's would have returned some usable knowledge.
I had a discussion with you a few days ago where I proved that his research is
1 cut, copy paste from internet
2 no hypothesis, no conclusion
3 written in bad English
4 published in shady journal

and most importantly
5 not at all useful for Indian state and taxpayers

And set up more branches of the useless 600-acre campuses of Lovely Professional University and Amrita University ??
Why not? Let more STEM colleges or MBA colleges open (and whose students according to you cause farmer suicides ;))
Or if you want government colleges let's make IITs IIMs or AIIMS

by voting for modi indian society has shown that majority support extermisim so there is no hope for india in future!

on the flip side hindu-satani always labeled Pakistani society as extremist but our majority never voted for right wing party yes they won 14-20 odd seats but never strong enough yo form govt!!
Pakistan is already officially an 'Islamic Republic'

His note ban(di) was extreme, apart from that, what's he done that is so extreme ?

He's a good man, Prime Minister Modi, and he's got a tough job. Muslims have nothing to worry about.

Pakistan is already officially an 'Islamic Republic'

That makes it more pertinent, an 'Islamic Republic' Pakistan, a supposedly theocratic state has never voted the Islamists to the center and the govt. A supposedly theocratic state here seems to me more secular and moderate, than a more secular and liberal India...

This is stranger than fiction.

So what would you rather have him researching ??

Let more STEM colleges

Take the case of computer engineering.

An operating system and a microprocessor are the two fundamental elements of a computer.

From these private engineering colleges in the last two and half decades have come out a few hundred thousand engineer graduates. How many operating systems and microprocessors have been designed by these engineers ?? Zero. Why ??

or MBA colleges open (and whose students according to you cause farmer suicides ;))

I a college drop-out and a socialist am a better economist than these MBAs can ever be, even those from the IIMs. I am not being vain. :)

Or if you want government colleges let's make IITs IIMs or AIIMS

1. IIMs already replied.

2. AIIMS seems to be a decent study and research center.

3. IITs. I will again mention computing. I have been a teacher in a private computing training institute whose curriculum was from one of the IITs. The curriculum was good but that IIT and the other IITs have been not that ambitious. There have been two microprocessor projects from the IITs. One from IIT Bombay called AJIT and the other from IIT Madras called Shakti. But the first one is actually an old American design called SPARC and the second is a more recent originally American and then international open-source design called RISC-V. Not Made in India.

5. But I think the IISc is good.

What more demands could the mullahs have for them to seek power there ?

India is on it's way to becoming truly secular, not the sham we'd been running all these years once the constitution is fixed by implementing the UCC. Surprisingly, it's the BJP who are leading the charge here.

All common sense folk should support a Uniform Civil Code.

Must be some sort of a sarcasm...
All common sense folk should support a Uniform Civil Code.

a uniform civil code will make it less secular...

Mullahs here are still at the fringe, they have their own few lacs followers and that's about it...even in provinces here is no Mullah led govt.

That makes Pakistan more liberal and tolerant than India, progressive too...isn't it.

Now in India all the liberals and seculars are running helter-skelter and gone underground and barely visible...Sangh and extremists are running the show, and it will only get stronger in coming years and not subside, so your thinking is a bit far fetched.

So what would you rather have him researching ??
Personally speaking I don't like social sciences as a subject. It is waste of time and money (taxpayers money)

If anyone wants to do a social sciences research they should first submit a proposal to the university on how exactly it will benefit the taxpayers. If it is approved then only the grant should be given.
Additionally there should be regular reviews (every 6 months) and anyone who has taken a grant from the govt should not be allowed to do campus politics. In fact the best way would be to ban all campus politics.

If you are not happy then you should use your own money to do research

a uniform civil code will make it less secular...
A Uniform Civil Code is the most secular thing. I think it is the very definition of secularism. There are same laws for all people irrespective of religion.

Would it contain provision for Hindu marriages to widely become considered as a social contract that can be broken by a court divorce or would it remain a religious act sanctioned by the gods and remaining for seven life times ?? ;)

A simple definition of a secular state is where every religion/group has the freedom to practice their beliefs and religious rituals and that includes the civil codes too.

A state is or purports to be officially neutral in matters of religion, supporting neither religion nor irreligion.

And that church and state should be separated.

Here uniform civil code is undoing of perks and privileges given to minorities related to their own religious practices and the special codes ingrained in their scriptures.

Take for example the Muslim law of inheritance...how can it be superseded by a uniform civil code.

Pakistan doesn't have to vote for Islamists as its Constitution is already fully Islamist.

And who isn't a Islamist party in Pakistan? So called relatively secular PPP (by Pakistani standards) who made Ahamdis Non Muslims?

When Pakistani laws are so Islamist e,g death sentience for Blaspheme, disallowance of non-muslim holding top political leadership positions, disregard for sanctity of non-muslim marriages e,g A Hindu married woman can marry a muslim man without taking divorce from her Hindu husband, what is the need for voting for any Islamist party.
