A Girl who challenged India water problem.....

In real life people are neither necessarily as defensive and nor do they get offensive in their defence lol. Thats just a trait of internet warriors.
ground realities are way too different..then what we do here.....I feel it too......
but I don't think there is going to be much difference in the hate and agony that we feel towards each other...
may be because this is what our history has made us......
I see lot of offensive posts here..but seldom reply them.....may be because I have I have stopped reacting to them......
I don't know how people over there would have reacted ...but in overseas I have seen people ob both nation live with each other in peace and love...

It depends on how one chooses to view it. I have seen Indians being welcomed by Pakistanis and how wonderfully they have treated them. Its obviously that our collective identity overshadows the individual one so if one gets to meet a person from across the border one would indeed be struck with the individual similarities on various levels and that I believe is the case with all human beings. As long as one lets sanity prevail all is good. I don't support the stance of India in a lot of issues and the same applies for Indians in terms of how they view us but hatred without knowing whom it is that you are exactly hating sounds preposterous to me. In our respective countries it gets magnified tenfold because there is no interaction its as if we are martians so there is this fear factor at play as well.

I remember when pakistani team came in my town to play.....I was in 9th...
my school was 5 min from the hotel where they have stayed........
after my school was over..I ran from there to see them ...they had to go for namaj in the local mosque .....
If I go with my feeling....that was the 1st time I was seeing a pakisatani...in my life....My first reaction was..they just look like us...are they really pakistani.....are they are just indians.........I came home and said the same to my mother.......
Till now I never spoke of it to anyone....
yes true...as long as the sanity prevails its good.......and same is on the stances on different issues by the pakistan.....
but still the thing is can we forget our past for our future...if we can we can grow together..or else this hatred will continue to grow..............

Fortunately, we have great examples of countries that have been at war with each other and for the greater good of their own people learned a very important lesson and that is that they can't vanish their enemy. As much as we might want to, we have to accept to learn and tolerate those whom we even hate. Our self righteousness can turn us into intolerable creeps. I have said it a couple of times before as well that we don't need to set unrealistic expectations so in the given circumstances the best course of action can be to end this "fixation" be it the hate campaigns or the Aman ki Asha. All we need is to concentrate on our own respective backyards and I am sure we would find more than enough that needs immediate attention on our part. India is considerably in a better shape as compared to Pakistan in fact in a much much better shape so there Politicians do get away with anti Pakistan rants and do end up grabbing votes. Here people have to make sure they escape suicide attacks and targetted killings so each day is a battle and people have to make sure they survive it somehow so they aren't in the least concerned about India in their real lives as opposed to the virtual one. Sorry for the long post lol.

yes,..many examples can be cited where their long animosity has turned into co-operative world..supporting each other and holding the hands..when they need the most.....
but the situation of India and Pakistan is not that simple...we are a 3rd world developing countries and most of us and for small and petty issue our politicians blame each other for the gain of votes...and same goes for army and intelligence agencies...
they do not want this to come to an end as they will loose the edge.....now there is china factor too......
India don't trust china and accuse it of helping pakistan against india.....and pakistan see china as a all weather friend ..which can help it ..in time of need....there are many border issue..which our politicans wold not like to come to an end b'coz of vote bank politics.....
yes..currenty india is in batter position but what the congress has done to this nation has now questioned the basic of survival of this this country...scams ..scams and scams....economy is in dip now and we are in crisis....yesterday only a new land scam came into light.....
we have a humongous no. of poor living in this country....and to over come this challenge we need to take some bold steps...in all sphere...poverty..malnutrition and healthcare are some basic things ..that we need to deal with.....

I agree but I believe its foolish to expect that on a national level as far as our governments are concerned. We are third world countries for this precise reason since we are far more interested in breaking each other apart than building our own respecting societies. But I believe it all depends on the public as its the masses who dictate the terms here. The longer they choose to be used by their rulers and refuse to look beyond the parroted stance of their governments, the longer it would take for us to flourish in the real sense of the word.

our govt.is driven by the emotions of people.....and by the national sentiments.....
I think common masses are more interested in their day-to day life then what going on between India and pakistan......
I have never seen any common man discussing these issue just for chat.....but its in the interest of our politicians that they keep these issue alive as this part of the world runs on emotion rather than on understanding.......
have listened many speeches from the leader of both nation and how they try to bash each other....now there is media which add fuel to fire...by discussing topics and flaming it.....
majority of the population which vote here is illiterate...many educated those who do vote are high on emotion....
so, its very hard to see people who vote with foreseeable future in mind......though I feel more the masses become educated the more rational our society will become....
the only thing that is in our interest is to boost trust and friendship......we don't have to fight but to learn from each other and stand together in the world....

Thats why i support a totaly Disjunct foreign policy, whatever is happening to other muslim countries is none of our buisness, And I am against any kind of support to separatist organisations in other countries because we have seen how they come back to bite us. lets leave this debate for some other thread :)
