here is another example about jet scrambling and there are a lot fo videos about late interception. this also relates with the SAM ring around the Pentagon which didnt work at all

well, the below page is the detailed account of USAF response to the hijacked planes. offcoarse, the response was a failiur. atleast 75 percent of it was a failiur. :)
