8 year old beaten and killed by employer in Pakistan

We need to make strong laws against Child labors, public don't usually report it to Authorities and even some who do they don't take action , its ridiculous that these future of Pakistan are working in such harsh condition when they are supposed to be in schools and carrying bags . That fcuking couple represents a part of our filthy society who consider themselves to be Para Likha tabaq , Saalay 2 takke ke log .. mera bas chale tu ese haram zaadon ko nanga ker bech chorahe pe chittar maron ..

Democracy is not haram in Islam.

And i told you a rastafarian prophecy not some Islamic ideology.
Yes...molvis can make anything halal when it suits them.
Stop being bitter and go get what you need.

Bloody sickening. I cannot believe such human beings even exist. Hang them. What this girl did was actually not only some neutral act totally unworthy of punishment; it was in fact an act motivated by true and unconditionally innocent love for other defenceless beings. In the context of an 8 year old's universe, she performed a "heroic" act, which any normally functional adult would have realised.

What is so wrong about sponsoring a child? The 8k to 10k you pay to him, can you not pay it without extracting work from him/her? What exactly is so Western about this idea? Consider it as part of your zakat and pay it to him/her.

You know khuda ke waaste koi baat Islam ko beech mein ghusaye baghair bhi karlia karo. You keep larping on and on about Islam but when I gave you an actual suggestion on how to cut back on child labour, suddenly you "aint a charity". Islam encourages charity.

Hypocrites are what all you religious guys are.
Kabhi system change nahi hona dena. Whenever we try to change something, you bring in religion to shut down any discussion. Tell me you fcker what is so wrong in sponsoring a child? Is it humane to let a child work just because he is poor? Can't you pay him without using him as a labor commodity? Wese bhi tou bakra eid pe laakho ke janwar laatay ho.

Next you'll be justifying child marriages and saying oh her dad was selling her so I married her to save her. And then you'll bring in religion to justify it. Oldest trick in the book.

Pakistan has been wrecked because of people like you. Koi bhi reform lana chaho tou you brand us as Western agents and bring in the religion card. Why the fck are you living in a Western country then you utter hypocrite?
This thread shows the priorities of Pakistanis. We should be OUTRAGED at this. And discussing ways to stop this. Instead we have members discussing zameen.com and land prices, ironically the same members who keep larping on how moral and good we are compared to the West and India.

These are some of the best thought out lines i ever heard on pdf.... i admire your views sir.... you won a follower in me :tup:

this guy need to be hanged with in 3 days no more court dramas . if he will go Lahore high court will set him free .

roaches stop crying and move on keep serving ypur elite masters!

Child labor in Pakistan is widespread in the urban as well as rural areas. IMO, one of the main reasons is the lack of population control. In the 1951 census, there were 35 million West Pakistanis and in 2017 we were 220-million. That means 6.2 fold increases in 66 years!

Poverty is a curse and if we are serious about ending child slavery, we need to get the Pakistanis out of the poverty trap. Additionally, providing more jobs is not enough, we would also need to control the population problem of Pakistan. When the number of children is limited to the number that the parents can afford, the root cause of child labor would be automatically eliminated.

Ironically, those who can least afford it, tend to have more children. As soon as the child is 8 or 9 years old, he/she is seen as a bread earner. Instead of sending the kids to school, poor parents send the boys as assistants to shop keepers /motor mechanics / small factories, and the girls to work at the homes of the ’well –off’ for doing odd jobs for a pittance because every little bit helps. Parents often resort to begging & pleading for their kids to be accepted as helpers.

On the other hand, these kids get employed because they are cheap. How can an 8-year-old, who can’t even take care of herself properly, look after a one-year-old child? She was hired because she did not cost much.

I don’t think that this family is truly ‘horrible persons’ but in the heat of the rage at the loss of an expensive pet, they forgot that their servant was only a ‘Kid’ and hence not could be expected to act as responsibly as a grown-up.

This case only came to light because the poor girl died, but the beatings of the child servants & laborers are happening every day. We can curse all we like; even if we crucify this family, child abuse, child cruelty & child slavery is not going to go away because these are endemic.

I am not in any way condoning the manslaughter of an 8-year-old girl. I am appalled at the inhuman treatment of a child. I am simply pointing out that if the unfortunate parents had not been obliged to sending their little girl out to work due to poverty, she would still be alive today. The blame, therefore, lies with the successive governments for failing to bring the majority of the population beyond the poverty line & controlling the population and on the nation as a whole who continues to elect corrupt & incompetent leaders.

You are such an idiot.
Read your own comment.
You taunted me about my religion by saying that why don't I pull out the mard e momin in me and provide him charity.
So you are the one involving religion not me

So , even if I do that, who will be staying with the 8 year old to look after him?
His parents work as they have another dozen kids to feed.
And so do most of his siblings as just the parents earnings are not enough.
Nobody in his family has any time for him.

In UK my other country of residence the local government or council looks after such children. But to money comes from council tax .
Every house pays a minimum of 70£ and above per month to the council.
That is on top of sales tax , income tax and other taxes and fines people pay
, پاکستان میں لوگوں سے ٹیکس نکلتا نہیں لیکن ملک میں سہولیات مغربی ممالک والی چاہتے ہیں۔ ایسے تو نہیں ہو سکتا

Tragic as this incident is, it is only a symptom of the disease. Punishing the criminals here is important, but the real solution lies in eliminating all the causes that create child labor in the first place. As long as child labor exists, the problems will continue.
For that we will have to improve our economy, education system and kill all the molvies. Because they are one of the root causes of uncontrolled population explosion

People on Twitter, including politicians, on Wednesday demanded justice for an eight-year-old girl who succumbed to injuries inflicted by her employers — who allegedly tortured her for accidentally setting their parrots free.

Zahra, who was a domestic worker at a household in Rawalpindi, was brought to the Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Hospital on Sunday in an injured state by her employer. According to the police, the suspect admitted that he and his wife had beaten Zahra after she let his "expensive pet parrots escape from their cage".

Zahra succumbed to her injuries soon after she was brought to the hospital and both her employers were arrested the same day. They were remanded into police custody until June 6.

The first information report, that was registered in Rawat police station on behalf of the SHO soon after the victim was brought to the hospital and was still alive, said that she had injuries on her face, hands, below her rib cage and legs. The FIR stated that she also had wounds on her thighs which suggested that she might have been sexually assaulted. Police have sent samples for forensic examination to confirm if an assault took place and are yet to receive a report.

The report was filed under Sections 302 (punishment for qatl-i-amd), 376 (punishment of rape) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Zahra's body was handed over to her family after a post-mortem examination, which revealed that the victim had died due to her injuries.

The girl hailed from Punjab's Kot Addu city and was employed by the couple four months ago to take care of their one-year-old child, police said. When employing her, the suspect had promised to provide her an education.

The incident has reignited a discussion over the exploitation of minors and child labour laws in Pakistan.

Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari said the ministry had taken notice of the incident and was in contact with the police. She added that the human rights ministry's lawyer was following the case as well.

She further said that the ministry has proposed an amendment to add domestic labour as "hazardous occupation in Schedule 1 of Employment of Children Act, 1991".

The incident comes months after the Supreme Court set aside the extended three-year sentence against former additional district and sessions judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife Maheen Zafar, who were convicted for torturing their 10-year-old maid Tayyaba. The case had garnered attention in 2016, when photos of Tayyaba were circulated on social media. The young girl suffered bruises, wounds and burns to her body while employed as domestic help by the additional judge.

The people who beat her to death are probably Neo-Liberal elitist.

All so-called "educated" pakistani elites think the rest of the population i.e. the 90% of the poor class are their personal slaves and expendables.

All pakistani elites that reside in DHA, Model Town, Bahria Towns are morally corrupt islamaphobes.

Slavery is alive and well in Pakistan... Dawn News and it's readers are part of the slave driving class and cry crocodile tears to portray themselves as enlightened Western wannabes.
