The questions should be asked from Pakistan's military planners, why Pakistan has not developed its own armoured personnel carriers to save the lives of its soldiers!!

For a country like Pakistan with difficult terrains, it should have been the first priority to start designing and building carriers in sufficient numbers so their soldiers do not have to use crappy commercial vehicles with no security features whatsoever.

Toyota should give an award to the Pakistani armed forces, paramilitary, police forces for buying and using so many of their pick up trucks as MRAPs. We are perhaps the only country in the world of this stature that still uses these death traps to transport our brave soldiers through terrorist, and IED infested areas.

Seven soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom and five terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Asman Manza area of South Waziristan, the military's media wing said on Wednesday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement, said the operation was launched on intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area.

"During intense exchange of fire, 5 terrorists were killed and 7 soldiers embraced shahadat," said the ISPR.

The security forces cordoned off the area and began a search operation "to eliminate any other terrorists" found in the area, the statement added.

There has been an uptick in attacks on security forces in recent months. Earlier this month, at least four Frontier Corps officials were martyred and 18 others injured in a suicide attack near a check post on Quetta's Mastung Road.

Last week, two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in North Waziristan.

The ISPR had said that security forces were conducting a clearance operation in the district's Dosalli area when the IED exploded.

In August, three Levies personnel were martyred and as many injured when their vehicle hit a landmine in Balochistan's Ziarat district.

No disrespect, these soldiers experienced Shadah! for Pakistan. There are weaknesses and I do agree they should be addressed but this loss was not due to poor training , since the same training has been utilized countless times to send Indian trained assets to hell. We should have used mraps, there should have been drones i the air, better coordination etc. but these soldiers did what was needed at the time and paid the ultimate price. That my friends is heroism. I feel you owe them an apology.
