A magnitude 7.8 earthquake has struck south-east Iran, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reports.

The epicentre of the huge quake was 86km (53 miles) from the city of Khash, near Pakistan's border.

Tremors have been felt across the Gulf and the Middle East. Tall buildings swayed in the Indian capital Delhi, reports say.

so according to BBC pakistan didnt felt earthquake, which even dehli felt

MY friends in Balochistan and Karachi saying Earthquake was sort of intense in those areas, Lahore and Islamabad felt it very mildly...

Here in UAE, it was pretty intense, you could see the whole place shaking!!!

GEO ran a video which showed the stuff falling off the shelf in some village of Balochistan.

Tremors jolt Pakistan, India, Middle East

KARACHI: Severe earthquake jolted parts of the country including Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Abbottabad, Islamabad, Lahore Tuesday, Geo News reported.



Tremors were felt across Pakistan, India, Dubai, Sharjah Ajman and other areas. The Met Office told that the intensity stood at 8.0 while the origin was Pakistan-Iran border area.



No loss of life has been reported in any part of Pakistan.



US Geological Survey (UGSS) said the tremor hit at 10:44 GMT at a depth of 15.2 km. The epicenter was in southeast Iran.



It was located 201 km (125 miles) southeast of the Iranian city of Zahedan and 250 km northwest of Turbat in Pakistan.



People also evacuated shaking buildings in Qatar and Dubai, residents said.

Sad to hear...this was expected since the earthquake was 7.8 and at depth of 15km...just for comparison, the one in Pak in 2005 was 7.6 and at 26km depth.

Luckily, since Balochistan does not have alot of hard infrastructure and buildings (especially West balochistan) damage has been limited.

A couple of buildings in Karachi have had some parts falling off though.
