But still as I said even though the LTTE were evil they were just the lesser of the two evils. Also I don't care about what others think about me..I stand for my personal convictions.

Bengalis were not castigated when they stood with their Eastern brothers in 1971, Sikhs are not castigated when they stand with the turban ban in any country..so I guess the Tamils too must be accorded the same priviledge..

It was a different feeling towards LTTE !!!
Cos before LTTE became strong there were many factions of tamil guerillas and lankan govt never showed serious attitude towards solving the problem !!!
When LTTE became strong and in 1987 onlu lankan govt asked help from india to help defeat LTTE !!
Only cos LTTE was powerfull they were able to obtain their demands !!!
If LTTE hadnt murdered rajiv gandhi, its support base in india would be an unparalled !!!
So as a tamil and many more we have mixed feeling towards LTTE!!!

I understand very well what you are saying. I never claimed that they were the guardian angels of Tamils in Sri Lanka.. I'm just saying they were a necessary evil to keep the Sinhalas in check.

Nothing...Spikes, as much as we (Tamils) sympathize with the plight of our brethren in Lanka, we also have our duty as Indian citizens and we must acknowledge in this era of WoT, and India being itself a victim of it and because of the need to put forth our case as a victim effectively across the global diplomatic circles, we needed to jettison the Tigers.

That being said, I strongly condemn any further diplomatic sheltering of the war criminals in Lanka that India provided and is providing and needs to let the UNHCR do its job of bringing the maniacal mass murderers in the Lankan administration to book and also help in the reconciliation and resettlement of the Tamils over there. That is the best we can do.
