Would China be willing to lease two of its just inducted Type 052Ds for 10 years? or are you advocating China build two ships and lease them to the PN?

I'm no admiral, but I don't think they would be that useful, due to their age, depending if they were recently upgraded, it doesn't look like they have VLS...
If Pakistan can get them for pennies, sure go for them..

if we can buy old machinery frigates from usa and tariq class from uk why not these

The Type 052D is now on the mass production stage, so the cost is going down.

China can perhaps provide the friend price of $600 million per ship, even with the latest 8000 tons variant.

BTW, assuming that Pakistan's economic is going to boom substantially in the next few years, I don't see how that the price of the Type 052DL is going to be a problem.

Hopefully the economy picks up soon, but Pakistan needs a lot of FDI to start earning exports to afford these defense procurement. Phase II of CPEC needs to be sped up so Chinese Factories can be set up in Pakistan to earn the money to pour back into the many much needed defense deals which benefit both nations.

With the trade war going, this is the perfect time for Chinese companies to move quickly to Pakistan and create a win-win situation for both China and Chinese companies, and Pakistan and the Pakistani Military.

The Type 052D is becoming a killer app because its VLS can now fit with the YJ-21 super anti-ship missile.

It can travel over 1000 km with a hypersonic speed of Mach 6 in the near space. And with that, the Indian carrier would no longer be a threat to Pakistan's navy.

Well China has been super to offer us the new Type 054 and yes it will be constructed and polished and tested however it has a standard build and delivery timeline

These 4 Destroyers , the one I shared are available "Today" we send a team of sailors they can bring these 4 ships to Pakistan in few weeks. Provided their is agreement for transfer to Pakistan's Navy

The additional 3 ships can be attained as they retire in upcoming years

These are 130 meter ships 3500-4000 tones ships

these are small and have no weapons on board apart from light arms

A tiny 60 meter ship

What was even the point to negotiate for this none sense ship ?
It will take 10 years (if it's sale is approved to reach pakistan and even then it will be unarmed)

To fill the gap, I agree Pakistan should go for a ship like this, but it needs a modest upgrade to be worth the effort and cost to operate. The HQ-7 missiles need to be replaced with SA-N-12 Grizzly (HQ-16) missiles to provide area coverage. Similar to the arm launchers on the Type 052B Destoyers, one launcher could allow these ships to provide a modest air defense capability. Also the main radar needs to be upgraded to the one planned for the Pakistani Type 054A/P Frigates. Once the Frigates are inducted, the missiles and the Radar can be taken off these ships and put on the Type 054A/P frigates. therefore minimizing cost, and nothing is wasted. The experience gained and capability improvement will force a change in the enemy.

The ship would end up with similar capabilities as the french Cassard Destroyers, and they are still operating with the French Navy.

instead of leasing these, it would be better to lease 2 active 52D.

Yep, but the anti-ship version is about 500-600 km.

I have already posted the details in the post #35.

The XK-2 is the land counterpart of the YJ-21, and it is a near space hypersonic missile with a range over 1000 km.

And it is about the same size as the YJ-21 which can be fit into the VLS canister of the Type 055/052D.
