The point to ponder here is that Attack on Pakistani Security Forces from Afghan Side by terrorists is an indication that these terrorists are finding it hard to enter Pakistan specially through Dir area for their activities after they ran away to other side (unfortunately with help of NATO) after Pakistani forces flushed them out

1. it will take a long time its not an immediate process

2. people have land and relatives on both sides.

3. Above all its going to create alot of problems for Afghanistan in terms of transportation of food items and other stuff.

BUT we have to fence it ultimately despite all the undue noise from other side

I agree that border should be fenced and mined if it is required in some places. How many more Pakistanis would have to die because of this all mess. But then Karzai would not agree to fencing the border, Infact Musharaf had proposed fencing and mining of the border from our side although it is really difficult but still no other solution but karzai did n't agreed to it.

US... As Pakistan cannot do something which will create more problems between two countries... US + Karzai dont want a fence so we are not building a fence.

2ndly Slow process... But US got more resources and can do it faster... So whats stopping US?? After all its the NATO Plus ANA who always complain about cross border infiltration etc etc.

WHY did not FC call for air support?

Yaar these poor FC guys don't really have that much heavy weaponry or hardly any advance equipment. Infact before 9/11 they hardly had faced any threat like this one. Even their salaries were not even half of Army's. Some improvement has come but is not enough.

It already been three years since, you started active operations on your westren border ..had you started building the fence then..you would already completed it ..then again if you start now ..you will complete it in a few years..one does not know how long this war will go on or even when this war is over..what kind of situation you will have in Afghanstan.

Open a visa office on both sides..illegal immigration is an answer to nothing.

3. Above all its going to create alot of problems for Afghanistan in terms of transportation of food items and other stuff.

All the legal transportation can take place through manned check posts..like the one you have for NATO supplies.
These are but bad excuses for not fencing a troubled border region.

Well USA is not here to stay ..hence they might not be interested in anything permanent...but they are moving towards temp sollution such as Aerostats which can detect infiltration.
Besides you blame them and they blame you!! but none of you want to fence the border..seems you both have hidden agenda behind not fencing it.
