DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A 3-year-old girl was married to a 45-year-old man in a Vanni bid, following the decision of the Panchait (tribal elders) over a conflict of love marriage, in Gandi Umer Khan village of Dera Ismail Khan.

According to sources, Farooq got married with a girl, which is why the Panchait decided to send him in exile while his 3-year-old niece Sumaira's marriage was fixed with Mehboob, uncle of Farooq's wife, in a bid of Vanni.

The Panchait's head, Saif-ur-Rehman, confirmed the Vanni decision, saying the two families could have fought over Farooq's marriage, which was why Sumaira was married to Mehboob.

I took the liberty of actually researching the geography of Dera Ismail Khan and it seems you were right.

It would appear that there are a minority of Pathans living there as opposed to everyone.
