Strangely you pick a valid point. What the heck are LeT doing in BD if they are supposed to fight for state injustice against muslims (as pointed by EastWatch in one thread)?..Aint this guys only supposed to be fighting in Kafir countries like India or say US of A.

Even Shanti Bahini in Chittagong never got out of their own teritorry as well as ULFA fighting in India did not take the fight outside Assam. Rules of engagement must be maintained if you fight for a cause. Those who were like Al-Qaeda, LET, PLO, Srilankan tigers who did not follow the rules of engagement finally lost public support and eventually lost the war.

Three Pakistani nationals, held early yesterday for suspected link with a plot to attack the US embassy and Indian high commission in Dhaka, are taken on a two-day remand in the afternoon.Star

The Detective Branch of police arrested three Pakistanis with suspected links to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Tongi and the city's Uttara early yesterday.

Later in the day, a Dhaka court placed them on a two-day remand each, allowing the detectives to quiz the two over the reported LeT plans to attack the US and Indian embassies in Dhaka.

The arrestees are Syed Abdul Kaiyum Azhari alias Sufian, 22, Mohammad Ashraf Alia Zahid, 24, and Mohammad Monwar Ali, 30.

Talking to The Daily Star, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner AKM Shahidul Hoque said, "We know a good number of Lashkar operatives are on a covert campaign to carry out subversive activities in Bangladesh. We however have no figure of how many of them are here."

He said of the arrestees, Sufian, a mechanical engineering graduate from Islamic Institute of Technology in Gazipur, had been organising LeT cadres on instructions from his bosses in Pakistan.

"He used to recruit youths for Lashkar and arrange training for them in different countries," Shahidul added.

The other two--diploma engineers--too had been working for the Pakistan-based militant group to spread its tentacles across the country.

“It's not possible for the Pakistani militants to operate here without the help from locals. Let us dig further to expose the entire LeT network, its financial sources and Bangladeshi patrons."

Assistant DB Commissioner Rafiqul Islam, who led the drives to net the Pakistan nationals, told The Daily Star, "We made the arrests following up information we had from the Bangladeshi LeT men arrested in Chittagong."

The DMP commissioner said the detained Pakistanis hold valid passports and visas, but they could not show any work permit and explain sources of funds for their living expenses.

Earlier on November 4, DB arrested Mufti Harun Izahar, Shahidul Islam and Al Amin alias Saiful.

Harun is son of Mufti Izaharul Islam Chowdhury, chief of an Islami Oikya Jote faction. Shahidul and Saiful are Harun's associates and former students of the IOJ boss's madrasa.

Our court correspondent adds: DB officials produced the Pakistani nationals before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ferdous Ara around 3:00pm. They sought a 10-day remand each for the three, but the court granted two days'.

Meanwhile, Mufti Harun and his two associates were sent to Dhaka Central Jail yesterday at the end of remand in two phases.

One of the guy were in electrical circuit making business. Furthermore, If these guys are doing any terrorism than they must have been doing with Bangladeshi counter part. They can not do anything unless local element help them out. Hence, who brought them from Pakistan?

Do you make any sense? A terrorist has to look healthy and beefed up?! A terrorist can not live legally in a country while hiding his ID??? If they were to blow up American or Indian embassies, there would have been no harm to Bangladesh's image?! This is not rocket science knowledge that if LeT commits anything in Bangladesh, surely ISI and they will accuse Bangladeshi based terrorists for that, as they have done in past. Although this thread and speculation along with it started with over enthusiastic drive to capture indian praise, there are undeniable facts on ground - because of indian imperialist and repressive practices, Bangladesh (and much of South Asia) suffers from india originated/centric terrors.

Other than that this incident and arrested people has to be proven guilty in court. And lets see what govt does on producing proofs.

These Taliban type of terrorists may be spread all over the country. Only a few arrested here and there are tips in the iceberg. Under a certain situation, some otherwise normal people are encouraged to become members of a terrorist organization.

I think, unless and until govt of India change its policy towards its neighbouring countries, fanatics will keep on enlisting their names in the terror organizations. India should not do something that the Muslims feel threatened of. Indian policy itself breeds terrorism in Pakistan, Bangladesh as well as in India itself to change the situation.

India needs to resolve the Kashmir issue and many pending issues with Bangladesh that include maritime territorial issues. Terrorist organizations meticulously make use of these issues to recruit members, who are then brainwashed in the name of religion to do heinous things that also include taking one's own life. So, I think the ball is in the Indian court.

What is even more stranger is that JKLF and APHC both of which are the main separatist organizations have renounced violence and have asked these groups to stop attacks and give up arms. The grand mufti of Kashmir has declared that there is no Jihad in Kashmir. So WHO has requested the LeT to come to Kashmir and create fasad. The fact of the matter is that they have no right to fight and kill civilians even in Kashmir let alone India.
