2nd Russian-built submarine arrives at Vietnam port

We can ask Russia to sell us the license and the technology to produce subs. the sooner we begin the better is it.

Vietnam needs a goahead of America, otherwise we will face international sanctions.

Its playing to China's strength for Vietnam to fight conventionally at sea. It just fails to match Vietcong doctrine. My dads village had many Chinese who joined the Vietcong, they literally turned green with sick after drinking the water in the Jungle. The were somewhat effective nonetheless because they fought Vietnamese style.

Just look at the battle of Hoang Sa, the Viets had far better ships but were defeated by fishing trawlers and friendly fire. This type of warfare is foreign to Vietnamese.

The russian is the last one to help Vietnam build submarine or any significant military products. The biggest customers of Russian weaponries are the chicom and the Indian. Both of them are moving toward self sufficency and buying much less from the Russian. Vietnam is one of a few customers left so there is no way the Russian would do anything to jeopardize one of their bread and butter businesses. The Russian even refused to transfer tech for Vietnam to build the Gepard corvette, let alone big ticket item like submarine despite of the fact that we bought up to 4 Gepard and 6 subs. Vietnam would have better luck receiving military tech transfer from Israel, South Korea, and Europe....than comrade Russia

Yeah, time for Russia to transfer more military tech to VN. VN will produce the weapons in cheaper price , and when we sell those weapons for the third countries under Russia's agreement to Camb-Laos and some African countries, Russia also will get a huge benefit from it

Yeah, China should remember the Battle of Bach Dang river in 938, where Great Viet army crushed China navy to pieces :D

And dont forget who killed 11 China troops in Gaven reef in 1990

So what do you propose for defending yourself from agressive China then?? You cant afford to buy a lot from Russia given your small economy.
Your leaders should approach India, atleast we can help you in building your own Corvettes and frigates atleast if not submarines or destroyers.

He does not hate anyone. He is just being realistic.
