happens regularly..
My friends father whom I pointed out in an earlier post.. was offered to lead the training command of Libya I think..
In this case...seems as if.. the RSAF wants to keep the Americans out of the BFT,PFT and LIFT stages...money mostly.. the Americans charge more.

I doubt if money is an issue for the Saudi Arabian Armed forces, considering the 40 billion dollars they are willing to spend on the new F-15s and assortment of other weapons.

In the words of an arab..
"we dont mind them milking the cow..we dont like it when they carve a piece out of it"
The money to spend may be there..
But the Saudi's arent all US puppets.. as much as they show..
There are struggles within the monarchy..
There is Bandar who would call himself Bandar Bush...
and there are others who would like to still drive an SUV.. but dont want the Americans saying a word about what he does with his money..
Each struggling for the big seat..
Pakistan is still regarded as the best country to source the training for the upper command.. after all..we have the nukes to keep Iran(not just israel) at bay.. they pay.. we dont ask questions. We used to guard them.. now we are not that trustworthy..but they still prefer our training in the initial stage since we gave them the initial start...trust.

. .
well its all about trust..the Arabians like the American stuff but mutual co-op is better between two brotherly nations.

assalam alaikum,

Yes among all the arabs may be the saudies trust pakistanies more then any other and they show their love towards their pakistani brothers ( eventhough there r some or many abuses happens to the labours in saudia but still pakistanies r trustworthy as mention by the participant above).

I hope our bond with all our muslim brothers grow like the days of prophet peace be upon him aameen

I think we should quit helping all the arab countries, and help ourself. Because in return they don't show any respect to what we train tham etc.

.

My Dad went on Depodition as a Flight Surgeon for the RSAF , Though there were plenty of Brits and Aussies and Americans at that time. They use to Fly there planes in the No Fly Zones Regularly. But the Majority were Pakistanis. Some of the Officers of the Education Core were also providing services to Saudi Military.
I know at that time Saudis went real angry when there Bid to aquire F-16s was turned down by the US's Clinton Admin and one of the pilots of RSAF told that the Americans dont give you much Details.
Apart from that there was huge number of Pakistani community more than any other in Saudia Arabia providing services throughout the Kingdom.
We also came across many Indians majority of them were IT professionals.
I still remember when Pakistan Blew of the Bomb in Chaghi and everybody in our neighborhood including Saudi Pilots of F-15s and Torneods specially came to our home bringing sweets and congratulating us.They were very happy for Pakistan's Achievement.

With a great majority of their population under 25yrs( I think figures of50+% have been quoted) , 20-30% people living in poverty and 30% unemployment you would have thought they would consider saving the odd buck.
