The same EVMs were used last time or during the election of Modi in 2014, why they were not raising stink back then? Or the same machines were used in Delhi State Election, why no stink back then?

The fun part is, EVM is not exactly a software heavy machine but mostly uses hardware and that too old ECL type of hardware. Meaning it cann't be hacked like smartphones, remotely or even via a cable connection. To manipulate election results you will need to phyically modify a large number of these machines and then modify them back once election is complete. It is impossible that one can do all this without so much of a peep anywhere or evidence of any sort. So yes, it is possible to modify an EVM to your favour but to influence a whole election will require you to open up and modify all the EVMs increasing your risk of getting caught significantly.

A party with a long history like BJP will not risk it. Much easier to get selected some other times than to risk being branded as a cheater for all times. BTW, same will be true with Congress.
