200 PAF Pilots were contracted to fly UAE F-16s in 1999

British Typhoons whacked SU-30s in an earlier exercise.
Air Forces Monthly - January 2007
The MoD said it would not be putting Typhoons up against the Indian Airforce Su-30s as a one on one fight. However, it did happen and there is HUD video to prove it. Apparently two inexperienced Typhoon pilots returned with big grins on their faces, the Su-30s were toasted, all the Su-30's air display antics amounted to nothing, the Typhoons proved too nimble and too powerful for the Russian aircraft. The Typhoons were also not clean configured.

And PAF F-16 beat the Typhoon.

Dear zarwan sir, what do you want to prove here with this.
A friendly exercise with two different fighter plane with wvraam and the gun battle scenrio meant for the exercise. Even you j-7 or sabre could beat eurofighter typhoon this way.

they want best and perfect things, that's why they hire person with best experience
Or it's a reflection on how Saudi society operates.... no brains but lots of money. (Not saying Saudis are dumb but that's the way they're operating.) Anything big done in the country is lead by foreigners, just financed by locals.

PAF pilots have flown the UAE M2K9s with the permission of the french. However they have NOT repeat Not had anything to do with Bl.60 which are either flown by locals or US pilots. My understanding is that currently they have enough local pilots for these planes.

The Saudis and the Emiratis are plenty sharp ... their business and management acumen are nothing to be scorned at. But that is the thing. They generally abhor doing something that is taxing on their physique, determination and grey matter all at once. They feel that it is unnecessary and beneath them. They feel that such tasks are better dealt by outsiders whom they are willing to hire and manage.

Come to think of it ... I have yet to see them excel in Software Development (my line of work) even. Yet as point persons from the client side ... they are very methodical and thorough.

Windy,

So, we invested so much in the emirates and saudia and Qatar----then what happened during the Yemen crisis?
true, we didnt played good politcs when it comes to yemen,,we gave a image of more siding with iran rather than showing a neutral or proarab picture..
pakistann could have played a better role..we lost alot in UAE and qatar but so far it seemed not much with saudis..though we gained nothing from iran, they seemd to be unmoved from this act.

Hi,

Iran was a drama----they made us put a stake thru the heart of our friends---and we did it with a smile.

FALSE. PAF pilots never flew Mirage 2000-9s at UAE. A back seat ride doesn't mean exchanges and deputations are taking place. Same with the Saudi F-15s, they've never flown them operationally or as IPs. Closest they came there on fighters are UAE Mirage IIIs and Saudi F-5s.

I heard this from someone who was employed to design and build the facilities for the M2Ks in Abu Dhabi. He may have been wrong but he told me that after a M2K crash the UAE requested the french to allow PAF to fly the M2Ks. I have never made any claims about the Saudi 15s. But you may well be right.

The F-15s I was referring to an earlier post by another member. They have hired about 4 French air force pilots as IPs but they have enough guys of their own....some of the UAEAF Mirage 2000-9 pilots have clocked over 3000 hours in the jets.
