All our development schemes can be funded , problems of basic amenities and education can be realized if we could get our hands on that cookie jar If only our govt took steps , it could be brought back , but congress and its corrupt backers who buy votes for them, wont do it.

because under swiss legislation --- Identities of account holders are not revealed , regardless of nationality of clients , they dont conduct background checks on how wealth came to their posession and do not recognize other countries tax laws .

Such an apolitical and neutral policy is tremendously lucrative for business.

It requires some serious diplomatic efforts by the Govt , to take the unearthing of names -process through several legal tangles and bureaucratic procedures . However as many suspect the present government , has several private , wealthy backers , corporates , lobbyists etc whom it will not want to offend and expose , hence a serious crackdown on Tax evasion seems very unlikely no matter how many millions stage dharnas on the street or how many Baba Ramdevs and Anna Hazares come out.

If they reveal the names , their black deals , covert ties with unscrupulous businessmen all come to light , and they are politically doomed. Which is why , very less chance of it happening in this current Govt's tenure .

I don't think so Jana. Because Europeans don't consider this as a criminal activity. They welcome all those who are having big pockets as their banks can fund more businesses with their money and the more inflow of cash is there, the better it is for these countries. Switzerland, Liechtenstein etc are some countries that have ZERO resources of their own. Their natural beauty and their banking industry is what runs their country which is supported by tertiary industries like small scale technological and other corporations.

Hence there will never be a law like this even if we wanted to.

It is a useless exercise to force people away from their money be it legal or illegal.

Remember! This money is gone. It was shipped overseas because Pak banks were not allowed to have the same level of trust.

We can only do one thing here.

Allow Gawadar (or some other port of country) to be a tax free, regulation free haven. Then let people (Paks and others) bring their $billions over there.

Pakistan should make a formal request to ask Swiss to give list of Bank accounts and sum and name of people - just like many other countries are doing
you can keep funds in Swiss accounts provided you paid taxes on these , and then moved it out of pakistan

Thats like 70 Billion USD in taxes , enough to pay all foreign debt of pakistan and Kick american Hynie
