Childmurderers, rapists and other killers should be put to death, killing someone unjustly need to be punished with death for sure

but right now 36 years prison is maximum punishment you can get

victims are death the criminals alive and there is still chance they can be released or escape so that's not really fair

the ones opposing death penalty would react different and support it if the victim is a close relative or friend

Death penalty is not favored, but it is because of a subject you have no idea about.

It is cus of a guy named 'Fetullah Gulen'. If we would adopt death penalty again, then the US would have a reason not to hand him over to us, a reason that is supported by laws.

But that does not matter, we always can kill these people in the prison, and say that 'they suicided', which is sth we actually do in general.

Or we can simply assassinate him elsewhere.

Getting the job done is different than getting into a political mess over some little issue.

The issue is he is going to be out when my daughter will be at the age of Özgecan (I don't have daughter, talking about the future daughter)

No it's not, first off that's inhumane it can be considered as torture and we dont need that and i suppose no sane person would allow torture while at same time opposing death penalty which is by painless instant death so it make no sense

also now the injured criminal will get medical treatment which cost the tax payers extra money that could be otherwise used for other real good people in need

Also death penalty is more like a strong way to deter psychopaths from comitting such acts, deterrence is what matters here because remember it's better to prevent than to cure otherwise i would say get used to such cases of innocent girls and children getting abused and attacked because that's obvious nothinn will change

Firstly let me say that i fully support Human Rights but i dont reject capital punishment because of Human Rights in this case, i belive death would be a easy way out for such people.
Besides i think money has no meaning in this issue, at least not for me.

I don't think so...there is outrage in Turkey everybody wants death sentence back... also from the AKP

Imo, US won't hand over Gulen what ever Erdogan does.

They are giving life sentence but max time served in Jail is 24 years if i don't remember wrong.

There are countrys with multiple life sentences for example 3x life sentence would be 75 years, i dont know how the situation in Turkey is though.

If 24 years is the absolute maximum then it needs to be changed ASAP.

personally if you ask me i am not really afraid to do time in prison but on the other hand i do fear death

You see the main important issue here is not punishment or making people suffer Its about good deterrence to make world more liveable and fair punishment to make the victims family and society calm and content peoples hearths

As for the death sentence. Some obvious reasons like EU criterias etc. won't allow the govt. bring it back but I would like to see rapists, terrorists, pedophiles, traiters hanged up or injected.. whatever.. Let's pretend we got it, then we face the real deal which is the way will be followed. Our justice system unfortunately is open for external influences. There can be a USA-like jury system, judge and jury can share the resposibility and a overseer higher court observe the trial something like that.. Anyway we can't have it until we become fully independent country..
