Turkey has a problem with violence against women.
Its not because of religion but more because of the stupid macho culture which is prevailend in many Turkish men who think that they own women or are superior to them.

This is not a problem unique to Turkiye but a global problem. Due to human nature we have an instinctive dominance effort on others. Just observe yourself and your behaviors towards other in various business positions or towards the persons with different physical structure, or different genders or towards someone disabled and someone healty. The high quality of people control their instincts and other ones behave like animals and cant control themselves. Cultures are also affected by these instinctives.
