2*MIG 35 >> RAFALE/EFT

according to broadsword, the Indian officials who analysed all MRCA fighters felt " Mig 35 is bigger and more maintenance intensive Mig 29"

also the no supply of spares for Mig 29 also played important role in Mig 35 loosing MMRCA

Wrong analogy . Mig1.44 was never in the Indian competition . Russians preferred to go with Sukhoi heavy aircraft rater than Migs light weight one and awarded them contract to develop PAKFA . Also the success of Su aircrafts in their own AF and Indian Mkis was a factor in giving contract to Su . Now its an aircraft of UAC where Mikoyan also has share .

There are claims we might co develop Light weight fighter based on Mig1.44 with Russia as another 5th gen aircraft .

do you have any link? this means third 5th gen fighter after fgfa & amca :woot:

+@sancho, why do you think IN went for mig 29k instead of more capable su-33, was just size the factor behind that so that more mig 29ks can be stationed in an AC.

Also its engines were unable to satisfy IAF and IAF dont want to go for Russian one . Mig35 can be used from carriers :smitten: They are again tying to impress us .

recently both IN & MOD acknowledged that they have got 15 mig-29k's in naval inventory, but initial order was of 16 aircrafts, i also heard that 1 mig-29k got crashed in it's trials, does that mean it became an Indian casualty even though it was flown by a Russian test pilot, will Russia give a replacement for it or charge for it assuming an extra purchase ??

There is no reason that the IN should have to foot the bill for a mistake by a RUSSIAN pilot in RUSSIA that too before the fighter had even been officially handed over to the IN. Russia is going to have to provide a replacement to IN at no extra cost.
