What's new

2/8 Gorkha Rifles won a gold medal at the Cambrian Patrol 2016.

Then Something is rotten in the sate of denmark. When I googled it, it only shows Pak army winning it. May you be correct is all I can hope.

This is world's most premier long range patrol competition The team won "Gold Medal" (Medal for toughest & bravest Army in the world). Don't be confused. Multiple teams win gold each year... its not a competition as such with rankings.

Maybe it's time for Pakistan also to rent out Gurkhas. Have "Pak Gurkha Regiment". Can imagine these 'Jap look alikes' shouting "Pak Zindabad". I mean they already shout out.

*Jai Nepal
*God Save the Queen
* Jai Brunie
*Jai Hind

and adding another war cry to the list would be good

*Pak Zindabad.

Not a bad idea?

@Zarvan What say you my Muslim bradher?

You already have your own "jap look alikes" in the Pakistani Army, Hazaras. top.

Not all Gurkhas are from Nepal, many live in India as well.

We already have the NLI to match the Gurkhas, they people of the country's northern most parts face the same harsh environment, high altitude and the never die attitude as the Gurkhas.
Stop dissing your own troops by wishing that mercenaries from other nations come to safeguard u.
FYI the British Gurkhas are equivalent, but not exactly, mercenaries

.
Who pays the piper calls the tune. They are mercenaries. They will sing what you tell them. In this case 'Pak Zindabad'.

Are you serious ?

FYI, in case you already dont know the regions of Dehra Dun & Darjeeling have swathes of Gurkha population . These a areas from the Gurkha Regiments draw recruits from besides Nepal.

. .
the Same NLI , which was dislodged from Kargil especially Kargil Hills?
They made a tactical withdrawal, they were only following orders, despite having no air cover whatsoever your third rate army was unable to completely dislodge them from their positions, remember those NLI jawans had no Mirage 2000s backing them up lol, it is common sense how could some pot bellied Tamil compete with such rugged men from such rugged high altitude terrain, it defies common sense.

Especially considering the fact 1 Muslim=10 Hindu. I completely agree with you. They made a tactical exit, just like they made a tactical entry. It was a tactical decision to send nawaz to US, tactical decision to not use PAF against the Indian jets who were dropping bombs on hill tops, and the Pakistani soldiers were tactically getting blown up (mind you, all was pre planned by the Pakistanis)., and then the tactical military coup.

Tactically they could have held on strategically it made no sense, they were not beaten by the Hindian but by their own incompetent politicians.

well , what ever you say....

Check you position before starting of war and then your withdrawal position.. Check Tigar Hills and other points. They have Stingers also easy to target. and planes performance was degraded in such heights and also maneuverability

lol, under same condition, you failed many times in Siachin....

yes , Points after points India taking back hills , is not beaten..

Pretty foolish of you to talk about Kargil or Tiger Hill:

Total Pak deployment = 1700 (so much for the 5000000000000000 Pak casuality rate bragged by ---)

Unsuccessful raids by indian army-- heavy casualities inflicted by thinly (undermanned) deployed (NLI) soldiers.

NLI troops inflicted heavy casualities on 3 Indian regiments -- despite facing "thousands" of Indian troops ( Naga + Grenadiers + Sikh Regiments) + massive arty barrages (1200 rounds every 5 minutes) & air strikes.

NLI dominated Tiger Hill for months -- ill equipped, under manned (massively outnumbered and outgunned) low on ammo and food -- rolling down boulders on India troops entrenched on the base after failed raids.

NLI was armed with few MG-3s, 1x - 12.7 MG and limited RPGs. The total strength deployed on the hill was estimated to be less than 100 troops--- who remained on the hill continously for months-- without proper clothing and equipment -- exposed to elements --- in an altitude surviving weather itself was a miracle !

Say's who ?

Pakistan army ?

Till one decade after Kargil, as per Pakistani army, Total Pak deployment was 0

Then Pakistani PM , COAS and army's media wing came up with 5 different casualty figures for it own troops.

Two each from Nawaz Sharif and Musharraf , and one from Pakistan army website.

Whom should one believe ?

Says the US Military Research Paper.

Pak Army,COAS came up with 1 figure .. which can be found on the internet..

You can take NS's figure and make a 32.

P.S: NLI wasnt part of the military but a paramilitary unit which was merged into the military as an honor for their valor.. in 2000.
