Excuse me. I meant Both hindu/muslim are staunch followers of their religion and despite differences they fight a common enemy (mainly Pak). I mean Hindu in the IA makes sense but even Muslims fight Muslims of Pak. That is a successful injection of nationalism in the IA. Remember that company army was disciplined too but they had a mutiny.
Problem in Pak army/society is that our motto cannot be followed by non-muslims in the same light. Like if you ask a Pakistani or PA personal, he can give his life for Masgid-e-Aqsa (Palestine) due to religious reason (not political). But a non-muslim PA personal has no significance to it.
Similarly, our motoo "Faith,
Taqwa, Jihad in the path of God" sounds very appealing to Muslims but felt not in the same zeal by non muslims. That is why a non Muslim cannot become COAS as he cannot consider Jihad in the same spirit.
Anyway, PA has successfully integrated all ethnicity and section of Islams as such that Pashtuns/Punjabi/Sindhi or Brelvi/Deobandi/Shia are best friends and can give life for each other.
They may be undoing some of that with their current ruling ideals.
