1965 War Documentary Fath-e-Mobin

Since you guys still belong to age when Kids determine ''victory'' of war by adding and subtracting number of tanks destroyed, air crafts shot down, soldiers killed and territory gained, so I better safe my time instead of preaching you people that wars are won by determining the extent of goals achieved, the price paid for achieving that goal and the worth of advantages that goals offer in short and long terms. :coffee:

Wars are won b
only objective you achieved is delusion nothing more nothing less. There were three objective two by pakistan & one by india

1.operation gibraltar>pakistan fail

2.operation grandslam> pakistan fail

3.india divirting pakistan forces from J&k to defend lahore > successfull with india holding 500 sq km in pakistan sialkot sector alone at time of ceasfire

end result pak gain nothing but only loose more teritory, man & machine...great victory indeed:lol:

That was your version but the reality is bit different if not the case then why Mrs. Gandhi said in 1971 that she took revenge of 1965 defeat?

.
  • Retired American diplomat Dennis Kux: "Although both sides lost heavily in men and material, and neither gained a decisive military advantage, India had the better of the war. Delhi achieved its basic goal of thwarting Pakistan's attempt to seize Kashmir by force. Pakistan gained nothing from a conflict which it had instigated."
  • English historian John Keay: "The war lasted barely a month. Pakistan made gains in the Rajasthan desert but its main push against India's Jammu-Srinagar road link was repulsed and Indian tanks advanced to within a sight of Lahore. Both sides claimed victory but India had most to celebrate."
  • American author Stanley Wolpert: "The war ended in what appeared to be a draw when the embargo placed by Washington on US ammunition and replacements for both armies forced cessation of conflict before either side won a clear victory. India, however, was in a position to inflict grave damage to, if not capture, Pakistan's capital of the Punjab when the ceasefire was called, and controlled Kashmir's strategic Uri-Poonch bulge, much to [Pakistani president] Ayub's chagrin."

She never said that. This is as much a myth as those angels who descended from heaven to fight for Pak in 1965.

. . .
Good God your grammar's atrocious. I'm going to try and understand what you read, but no promises I got it accurate.

Anyway, you failed to take Lahore and Sialkot, if you don't see that as defeat after you started the war then I don't know what is. Oh and your Prime Minister died of heart attack due to the ceasefire terms.

This what India Gained Over 1,840 km2 (710 sq mi) of Pakistani territory: 640 km2 (250 sq mi) in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan's portion of the state; 460 km2(180 sq mi) of the Sailkot sector; 380 km2 (150 sq mi) far to the south of Sindh; and most critical, 360 km2 (140 sq mi) on the Lahore front.

Again, the defender always loses more territory and if your gains were so grand, why weren't you able to take the entire cities?

.
India actually attacked Pakistan almost 2 weeks after Gibraltar, and never said they attacked Pakistan for that reason at the time. There was almost 2 weeks of peace, but out of the blue they declared war. Very strange behaviour if you ask me.
Did you give 1 month notice to India when you did Operation Gibraltar?
