Year 2017 hasn't been kind to freedom fighters in the valley. So far 193 freedom fighters have been killed in encounter by the security forces and total figure for the year 2017 will be somewhere north of 200. Biggest tally for this decade.

152 Indian security forces were killed in 2017 as well. Half by separatist Kashmiris and the other half mostly by Naxalites. Just this past summer, 26 CRPF were ambushed. Not a very good ratio considering the Indian forces disregard human rights by using rape, torture and illegal arrests as well as collective punishment learned from the Israelis. Maybe eat more protein you veggie commando.
