PAF was focused on improving its F-16 fleet in the 1st decade.

PAF tested J-10A but found it to be lacking in comparison to the F-16s. PAF could wait for China to develop J-10 platform further*. JF-17 Thunder project was top priority on the other hand.

*China developed and finalized J-10B in 2016 and J-10C** in 2018. These are much better than J-10A.

**J-10C is 4+ generation MWF and its relatively cost-effective configuration is cleared for EXPORTS as J-10CE.

PAF will go for the best option now.

Why rush to induct a jet fighter? It is better to be patient and invest in something which brings value to the table.

Above is how the Canadians flew, just as an example for comparison, the right formation were mostly rookies and graduates.

The IAF Tejas flypast was good when they flew individual 4-ship formations, but the mass formation had some pilots not in sync with everyone in formation.

I remember reading some Indian articles many years ago about the cutting edge design of the Tejas wing. Now you have solved the mystery. Unfortunately, the Indian designer did not see the Canards. Now they are trying to add the Canards but is there space?

Problems? Such as limited range and payload of Tejas due to small size. Yes, major problem for Pakistan.....
