RIP. We, as Indians know how it feels when "terrorists" from pakistan kill our soldiers and make their way back. Last year it happened with India. 5 soldiers have been beheaded. It only stopped when Indian army finally decided to retaliate and pounded enemy bunkers killing 10 soldiers and severely wounding 15. Since then no incursions have taken place. There is a saying in hindi...laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahi mante. Which means "a person who can only understand the language of beatings cannot be counselled by words". Hope Iran too retaliates and sends a tough message to whoever might be the perpetrators. Again RIP.

Deputy Minister: Death of Border Guard Toughens Diplomatic Talks between Iran, Pakistan

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Interior Minister Hossein Ali Amiri regretted the execution of one of the five abducted Iranian border guards by Jeish al-Adl terrorist group, cautioning that the death will complicate diplomatic talks between Tehran and Islamabad over the case.

"Due to the fact that the border guards have been taken to Pakistan's territories (after their abduction) and are kept there, the martyrdom of the Iranian border guard will certainly affect the diplomatic negotiations underway between Iran and Pakistan over this issue and the trend of talks will grow hard," Amiri told FNA on Monday night.

"At present, we are waiting for the Pakistani government's official position," he added.

Amiri had earlier on Monday told FNA that the local officials in Pakistan have confirmed the execution of one of the five Iranian border guards abducted along Iran-Pakistan border on February 6.

His remarks came after Jeish al-Adl claimed on its tweeter page that it has killed Jamshid Danayeefar, one of the kidnapped border guards.

On Sunday, another Iranian official said that efforts and consultations with the Pakistani officials still continue to secure the release of the border guards.

"Talks with national and local Pakistani officials have been held at different levels and they have made some promises," Governor-General of Iran's Southeastern Sistan and Balouchestan province Ali Awsat Hashemi told FNA.

He expressed the hope that the young border guards would be released to return to their families soon.

Legislator Asks for Iran's Direct Action to Free Abducted Border Guards

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian MP condemned the execution of an Iranian border guard by Jeish al-Adl terrorist group in Pakistan, and called on the government in Tehran to take direct action to free the other four hostages.

"Consultations in this regard (with Islamabad) still continue but it seems that political consultations aren’t useful and don’t bear any fruits and practical measures need to be adopted to free the border guards," member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Saleh Jokar told FNA on Tuesday.

"And if the Pakistani government blocks Iran's action for releasing its border guards, we will take more serious measures through the international bodies," he added.

Meantime, another senior Iranian lawmaker voiced regret over the execution of an Iranian border guard by Jeish al-Adl terrorist group in Pakistan, and stressed that the government in Islamabad should account for the brutal killing.

"Experience has shown that our country has sustained much damage from Pakistan," member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Baqer Hosseini told FNA on Tuesday.

He said that Pakistan should account for the killing of one of the five abducted Iranian border guards by the terrorists and should secure the freedom of the remaining four.

Hosseini called on the Iranian government to seriously ask Islamabad to secure the release of the border guards, and added that if the Pakistani government avoids cooperation in this case, "Tehran will directly enter the scene to free them".

Pakistan accountable for border guard’s killing: Iran

Iran expresses sorrow over the killing of one of its five border guards abducted by terrorists and transferred to Pakistan last month, saying the Pakistani government should be held accountable for this tragic event.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Tuesday that Pakistan has so far taken no serious measures with regards to the case of the abducted border guards.

“Iran calls for serious and swift measures by the Pakistani government towards the arrest and extradition of terrorists [involved in the kidnapping] and [for Islamabad] to guarantee the health and [safe] return of the border guards,” Afkham added.

She said Pakistan’s refusal to adopt measures against provocations that jeopardize friendly ties between the two Muslim neighboring countries violate the code of good neighborly conduct.

“Iranian officials have repeatedly expressed their dissatisfaction with and concern about acts of terror in border regions and the Islamic Republic of Iran has stressed the need for necessary measure by Pakistan to prevent terrorists from crossing and using Pakistani territory,” the Iranian spokesperson pointed out.

She said Iran and Pakistan’s borders have always been borders of peace and friendship and that no act of aggression has ever been launched against Pakistan from Iranian soil.

Afkham expressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate in any way with the Pakistani government to ensure security on the two countries’ borders and counter terrorism.

On Monday, Iran’s Interior Ministry confirmed that Jamshid Danaeifar, one of the five kidnapped border guards has been killed.

On February 6, the Iranian border guards were abducted in the Jakigour region of the province, on the border with Pakistan. The men were later transferred to the Pakistani territory.

The Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the abductions.

The news of the kidnapping was first broken by Saudi Arabia’s al-Arabiya news network.

In February 2013, Iran and Pakistan signed a security agreement under which both countries are required to cooperate in preventing and combating organized crime, fighting terrorism and countering the activities that pose a threat to the national security of either country.

Iran has repeatedly called on Pakistan to comply with the terms of the agreement.

Iran warns Pakistan after abducted soldier feared executed

Tehran (AFP) - Tehran on Wednesday issued a warning to Islamabad after reports emerged that one of five Iranian soldiers abducted and taken across the border into Pakistan by Sunni extremists had been executed.

President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone call with Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif demanded "serious and swift action" by Pakistan to secure the release of the soldiers.

"We expect to hear good news in this regard," he said, while calling for "joint action by both countries against terrorists," the official IRNA news agency reported.

For his part, Sharif said the issue was of "utmost importance" to his government and that he was "prepared to boost action to free the soldiers".

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had earlier expressed "grave concern" about the fate of Jamshid Danayifar, who was kidnapped along with four other border guards on February 6 by rebel group Jaish-ul Adl.

"We did all we could to secure their release," Zarif told state television after a cabinet meeting.

"But it is disappointing that the Pakistani government has failed to secure its borders, and allows terrorists to operate on its soil."

Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli had earlier warned -- without elaborating -- that Iran "reserves the right to utilise all its ability in its border areas."

Jaish-ul Adl said on its website on Sunday that Danayifar had been killed, warning of further executions should Tehran refuse to "release Sunni prisoners".

The rebel group, which took up arms in 2012 to fight for what it says are the rights of Iran's minority Sunni population, is active in the restive Sistan-Baluchestan province that borders both Pakistan and Afghanistan.

In November it claimed responsibility for killing a local prosecutor, a month after its rebels killed 14 Iranian border guards in an ambush.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned in a Tuesday statement the reported killing as an "appalling act" and urged that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

A spokesman for the US State Department, Alan Eyre, called for the "swift release" of the abducted soldiers while expressing hope the reported execution -- that came as Iran was celebrating its Persian New Year -- was not true.

Shortly after the abduction, Iranians launched a campaign on Twitter, despite the micro-blogging service being banned in Iran.

Demanding the soldiers' release, the FreeIranianSoldiers hashtag went viral in February.

Some Iranians have used social media to hit out at the Tehran government for its inability to bring home the young soldiers, who were serving their 24-month mandatory military service.

Border guards chief Hossein Zolfaghari has admitted that there was "negligence" in the lead-up to the kidnapping, saying those responsible were suspended, with some facing prosecution.

Iran summons Pakistan envoy over border guard killing

Iran has summoned Pakistan’s ambassador to Tehran in connection with the killing of one of five Iranian border guards held hostage in Pakistan.

Noor Mohammad Jadmani turned up at Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, IRNA quoted an informed Foreign Ministry official as saying.

The Iranian official said the Pakistani ambassador was summoned as part of Iran's serious follow-up on the whereabouts of kidnapped Iranian border guards and to remind the Pakistani government of the need to take urgent action for the identification and capture of those behind the killing of an Iranian border guard and their extradition to Iran.

Last Sunday, Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group, which abducted five Iranian border guards in February and took them to Pakistan, announced that it has killed one of the hostages.

Earlier on Wednesday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the Iranian nation expects the Pakistani government to secure the release of the Iranian border guards.

In February 2013, Iran and Pakistan signed a security agreement under which both countries are required to cooperate in preventing and combating organized crime, fighting terrorism and countering the activities that pose a threat to the national security of either country.

Iran Raps Pakistan for Lack of Action in Dealing with Abducted Border Guards' Case

Iran taking new security measures at eastern borders

Iran’s Police Chief Brigadier General Esmail Ahmadi-Moqaddam says the Islamic Republic has begun constructing 120 watch towers along its eastern border areas.

Speaking to reporters in the Iranian city of Shiraz on Saturday, Ahmadi-Moqaddam said the watch towers and a 120-km road are being constructed by the Iranian Police in cooperation with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) to increase security along the eastern borders of Iran.

He also confirmed that the IRGC has begun its new mission to provide security along Iran’s border with Pakistan in the wake of recent attacks against Iranian border guards.

The IRGC’s Qods Headquarters has been commissioned to ensure the security of 300 kilometers (186 miles) of the border in the southeastern city of Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari visited the region on Friday and assessed the extent of the readiness of the Qods Headquarters forces in performing their new mission.

On March 23, the Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group, which has claimed responsibility for the February 6 abduction of five Iranian border guards in Jakigour region in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province and their transfer to Pakistani territory, claimed that it had killed one of the hostages.

On October 25, 2013, the same terrorist group killed 14 Iranian border guards and injured six others in the border region near Saravan.

Iran and Pakistan signed a security agreement in February 2013, under which both countries are required to cooperate in preventing and combating organized crime, fighting terrorism and countering the activities that pose a threat to the national security of either country.

Iran offers to take over security of Pakistan border

An Iranian lawmaker has called on Pakistan to hand over to Iran the security of its common border with the Islamic Republic.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that since Pakistan is not capable enough of securing [its] common borders with Iran, it should entrust this arduous task to Iran,” said Evaz Heidarpour who sits on the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s Majlis.

He said the volatile situation along the Iran-Pakistan common border could open a Pandora’s box, and added Tehran has proposed that Islamabad hand over to Iran the full responsibility of ensuring security along the border, but “Pakistan has not yet given a response in that regard.”

The Iranian MP also denounced the abduction of the five Iranian border guards by the Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group as an “inhumane act,” stressing that all Iranian security bodies have been seriously following up the case and contacting Pakistani officials as well as international organizations ever since the kidnapping took place last month.

The IRGC's Qods Headquarters has been commissioned to ensure the security of 300 kilometers (186 miles) of the Iranian border area in the southeastern city of Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan province for stepping up security in the area.

Following the commissioning, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari visited that region’s borders on Friday and assessed the extent of readiness of Qods Headquarters forces in performing their new mission.

These Iranian guards are abducted from where???????? IRAN ???......

They were conscripts posted at the border with Pakistan with no means to defened themselves. I have seen the video of their abduction released by Jeash al-Adl and they were staying out in the middle of no where in just a tent. The Adl terrorists had crossed the border into Iran from Pakistan and taken our people at gun point back into Pakistan.

Of course, the Iranians overseeing the deployment and welfare of these men have been accused of gross negligence. Some have already been dismissed and appropriate reprimands and punishments will be handed out to officials on our side that have been accused of negligence.

Now, the bigger problem for us is that Iranian forces have not penetrated the Pakistani side of the border to eliminate the terrorist and criminal sanctuaries that exist on that side. We have been waiting for the Pakistanis to clean-up their side of its lawlessness for a long time, but they have not done so.

And for your information, the IRGC Qod's force will now be deployed on the Iranian side and i expect that they will start a military sweep of the area. But without police action or a military operation on the Pakistani side, which so far the Pakistanis have consistently failed to do even when asked several years ago, the cross-border terrorism will no doubt continue. This is unacceptable to Iranians, hence, why there is so much criticism against Pakistan.

We dont know anymore if it is just Pakistan's weakness and ineptitude to exert control over its territory along its borders with Afghanistan or Iran, or if there is complicity with Taliban and other terrorists from the Pakistani establishment. We knew for at least 15 years that this latter view was the Afghan position on Pakistan, but Iran never officially or publicly endorsed this view. But i see that changing very quickly now because Iranians have finally had enough with terrorism from Pakistan.

I don't think Iran should give them legitimacy by negotiating with them.
