Local manufacturing doesn't mean acquiring the technological capability to use it again in another concept for other means. Theres a lot of different technology and knowledge in these systems, they don't have that knowledge which is what I mean they would get with inventing which you call "re-inventing of the wheel".

We had our big down period after the end of the last Arab Caliphate 500 years ago and until 100 years ago after our country and its people being the founding founders/catalysators of the largest and most influential empires in the ME and arguably among the most influential in the whole history. Islam and the Arab world and heritage is the living evidence of that to this very day nearly 1500 years after and 1 million wars after...

Many of them are not hard earned but come naturally.

How can you explain to an Yemeni - his country being part of one of the most ancient civilizations in the Near East and entire world that he now lives in the most poor country in the entire ME and that barely anybody gives a flying pfuck about him as a people or his country while his country was a trading hub with 3 continents and major civilizations just 3000 years ago? Maybe in 1000 years time they will be the richest country in the region. It's a wild guess but none of us here will know.
