Let me guess - political honchos and village/panchayat hotshots are involved - right?

panchayats and politics of appeasements are still far better than situation of interior Sindh where it's only feudal lords and slaves/bounded laborers and people HAVE to vote the feudal under whom they are, the ones who are little bit better off are fooled in name of Sindhi nationalism. Problem there are not going to solve unless the lands which these feudal lords got from Britishers by sucking their testicles are snatched and distributed among the common folks to empower them. But problem is same people go to parliament against whom we need actions.

Despite of all media pressure nothing done for people effected by famine, the reason is simple these scum lords knows that they do something for people or not these slaves have no option other than voting for them. But yes are filling their pockets with the funds allocated to provide food, water and health facilities for them. For photo sessions they go to distribute some goodies, there were also reports that flour bags giving to people during photo sessions are actually filled with sand. So, longer the famine remains better it is for them.

I don't know if panchayat in UP is any better(if that is even possible), but except for the land, the rest stands true here in (most of) UP and (all of) Bihar. Only the land reforms were done all over in India. But then Class 5 failures got onto the political ladder and started sucking people's blood. However, the situation is coming to an end now - but khap panchayats pop up occasionally as you know. Rare but happens...and God that is embarassing.

Besides, how strong is Sindhi nationalism? As far as I have interacted with Sindhis, they believe themselves to be Pakistanis first...or am I missing something?

Edited ... don't want to score points on the suffering of girls. ( be they of any religion) having learned how things are in interior Sindh from this forum.... I am sure those people don't give two squirts of p!ss about whether the girls are hindu/christian or muslim as long as they are poor and can be exploited.
Shame on the whole sub continent for tolerating such things in whichever way they do it.

To solve this problem:
-we first needs to kick out corrupt PPP from Sindh.
-we should rectify our media approach which is promoting such culture.
-we need to induce real teaching of islam.
-and finally we need to make our justice system much better and should induce islamic punishments to eradicate such jahalat.

But of course, Punjab is still the bane of Pakistan and all hail Sindh and "Sayi tu Sayi". I live in Karachi and racism among Sindhis is too damn high. They think they are some kind of victims, despite their beloved PPP ruling for the last 5 years.
