Kolkata to base Heron and Searcher MK II unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)

Only hope for WB are the people of WB. As a person from Kolkata, we have become too apathetic and are looking too much to leaders to help us.

The Hindu : Top Pak scientist warns of extremist threat to n-weapons

Pakistani nuclear scientist Pervez Hoodbhoy has spoken of growing fears in Pakistan that its nuclear arsenal could be “hijacked” by extremists as a result of “increasing radicalisation” of the Army. He said such fears were initially expressed mostly in the west but were...

    How are drones countered?

It seems that more countries will use drones in warfare, given the frequency with which the US is using them. I was wondering what are the counters to drones? Can they be fought with fighters, or be tracked with missile defense systems, or something else. Given their size, they'd be hard to...

Tehrik-e-Taliban peace offer: train guns on India

Why would RAW fund them? They are helped by the ISI, Imran Khan said the same when he came to India recently. I think terrorism is a Frankenstein's monster for Pakistan. They are unable to control it now, and are themselves suffering for it.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) — which has claimed responsibility for many of the brazen attacks across the country in recent years — has offered to negotiate with the government but only on its own terms. This offer was made through letters sent to a couple of local journalists on...

    Narcondum Island Radar Installation plan

I don't agree with the majority opinion here. That species will be extinct if the forest is cleared. It is best to look for alternative options

DRDO: Intercontinental ballistic missiles well within reach

Sure. We could add better range to the Agni V, and then add features like MIRV and others. So we'd have an updated missile, which has already been tested in a smaller range, instead of a brand new missile. The US only keeps that one type of ICBM, why can't we?

DRDO: Intercontinental ballistic missiles well within reach

Why can't we make a 13,000 KM ICBM like the Minuteman III, and keep only that in service? It would certainly lessen some problems.

BrahMos Cruise Missile Sub-System Failed During July Test

What I meant was that all other systems working meant that we had gotten most of the things right the first time, so we're on the right track

BrahMos Cruise Missile Sub-System Failed During July Test

Good to know that only one subsytem failed. The important thing is that all the others worked. No matter. We need to do some more tests until we get it right.

‘China has no plan for Indian Ocean military bases’

Honestly, I don't think we should take any of these official statements from India and China seriously. There is a huge discrepancy between what is said and what is done. India should make bases and reinforcements close to the border and send a sizable number of troops close by, just in case.

Military to buy DRDO missiles worth Rs 1 lakh cr in 10 yrs

This is good news. Along with DRDO, we also need to bring in private companies. Monopoly on weapon production will lead to corruption. A healthy amount of competition will encourage faster production and less corruption, as well as possibly lower prices.
