Daronomics - Dar's attack on exports has begun

I can bet my bottom dollar that the guy who heckled the honorable minster is a PTI supporter. Indians have no locus standi in the domestic politics of Pakistan. Regardless of which Pakistani political party succeeds in domestic elections, India will always remain the primary enemy of Pakistani...

All LNG spot cargo sold out, tough winter for Pakistanis

Suppliers (like Qatar) scuttle long term contracts because the penalty that they will pay is lesser than the profits they can earn from spot market. Developing countries may not be able to competitively bid in the spot market given the buying power of developed western countries. If there is a...

Pakistani middle class is not playing it's role in Politics- Leading to current issues in Pakistan

Taxes collected can be direct and indirect. In case of most developing countries, the per capita income is so low that the direct tax collection is equal or lesser than indirect taxes. In India for example, GST collection is 60% of total tax collected by the exchequer. Given that indirect taxes...

Pakistan to procure 6.2m mosquito nets from India

Of course US imports low value goods from developing countries, I do not deny that. I only cited US to make the point that desperate times can result in shortages that cannot be domestically fulfilled even if the country is capable of doing so under normal circumstances. Like in this case...

Pakistan to procure 6.2m mosquito nets from India

This is exactly what I was going to type. People here wallow without considering the practicality behind the request. Even the US imported a lot of basic necessity goods (and even aid) after devastating floods. Does it mean US is not capable of taking care of itself? :disagree:

REUTERS: Uber exits five Pakistani cities, to continue services via unit Careem

This is clearly a business decision that is meant to streamline their footprint in the country. This has nothing to do with the government or the current economic troubles. Some may try to spin this differently. On a related note, cab and auto drivers in India are typically livid with Uber and...

After "Befitting Reply" from Ishaq Dar, Moody’s has now downgraded ratings for 5 Pakistani banks from B3 to Caa1

The rating agency would have likely made the decision to downgrade ratings much earlier. This is not likely related to Mr.Dar's comments one way or the other. PS: The title of the thread is hilarious

GBP to PKR now stands at 239, it was 242 when IK was removed.

I'm only making a passing observation. Overall, the UK economy is obviously more robust than any developing country. But the recent management of UK's economy is not as good as that of Pakistan considering the relative state of both economies. 🙄

Analysis: How the govt ‘tamed’ dollar, inflation in one fell swoop. And How Badboodar KhotaKhor Hafeez Malik Would Never Post This Article

This is a very cynical view without any direct evidence to support the position. Guilty until proven innocent, eh? :disagree:

It seems like Pakistani economy is better managed than UK's economy for the moment.

Who’s To Blame For Pakistan’s Crisis Situation? Ft. Javed Hassan
