Iran produces some of the smartest and top computer scientists in the world - Google CEO

This is totally true. My uncle works at Google and he said google's top engineers and data scientists are of Iranian or Soviet origin, while Amazon has Indians forming a significant portion of their software/IT workforce in the US and btw Eric Schmidt is the CEO of Alphabet and Sundar Pichai is the CEO of Google

demonstrate it and win a couple turing awards then etc

I met someone that runs IT at JPL; he told me all the top scientists and engineers working there are Iranian.

So what? Many of these people visited Iranian schools, universities and institutions which are financed by the Iranian tax payers. And now they don't live in Iran, they don't work for an Iranian company, in fact, Iran is not benefiting from them at all.

Same goes for Turks/Pakistanis/Arabs working/living abroad. This is nothing to be proud of.

eh, mainly Iranian jews or Zoroastrian

just checked JPL's website, all the "top" scientists and engineers are euro or asian etc

There are over 400 contemporary Iranian scientists and engineers that have taught at prestigious universities, contributed by advancement in their respective fields, and either are running companies or have in the past at top positions.

Show me one Turk, Pakistani, or Arab that can hold a candle to Dr. Firouz Naderi, as a matter of fact show us a list of Arabs or Turks currently or in the most recent times that have led NASA.

Pakistanis are smart people. Don't include us in your barbaric middle eastern war of words.

eh, mainly Iranian jews or Zoroastrian

Wrong! All muslim Iranians are decedents of our Zorastarian past. Almost all of the scientists contemporary or in the past are ethnic Iranians. Jews are motivated by money. They push their kids into fields strictly to be high earners( doctors and attorneys). There are Jews who are successful businessmen in the fields of real estate and banking, but in science and engineering, there are almost nonexistent in Iranian society.

The most famous and prominent Zorastarian is the owner of TATA.

I will not even get into this conversation with you. You need look at your homeland and tell me if what goes on there falls into the context of barbaric. I am going to stop there because I have several Pakistani friends who are wonderful people.

That's due to barbaric Afghan refugees. Rest of the country is fine.

That maybe true but I can't really vouch for it as I have no sources to confirm the same. I've seen some people commenting that top scientists have gone to work in the US or EU and that is a major brain drain but be it for the Iranians/Soviet origin/Indians who are leading the top most firms in the US happen to be there as our home countries haven't been able to provide the opportunities they deserved.

I personally couldn't get into any govt organization in my home country as they asked for recommendations and commissions to take me in even as an intern. I did intern at HAL after going through a lot of redtape but I learned HAL has the shittiest project management system and employees in there aren't hired through talent or skills but purely based on reservations, no wonder it always makes crappy products and misses it's deadlines but private firms in India are in par with any world-class firm

But now here I am in the US with one of the best organizations and I've worked with a lot of Iranians in my university in the past and they pretty much complained the same for their reasons to come to the US due to lack of opportunities and minimal govt support

Russians, Indians, Chinese & Iranians are among the top best educated immigrants in the U.S. and at the end of the day they are what allows the U.S. to remain the most advanced country in the world

Top scientist from all those countries work at NASA, JPL(Jet propulsion laboratories), are researchers at many top universities & work in R&D in various fortune 500 companies!

The reason Google's CEO talks about Iranian immigrants is because he understands the value of human resources and clearly wants to counteract Trumps idiocy! When Google CEO comes and talks about Iranians computer scientist he is basically inviting top Iranian engineers to come and work for google! It's smart and that's why he makes the big bucks! One tweet goes viral that's millions of dollars in advertising & recruiting with a simple tweet!

I agree. There are definitely some politics in Iran. People are passed on not because of merit but because of political favoritism.
