Your comment is very telling about your laissez faire attitude towards war: Since you don't have to participate in it you are all for it.
I have read a lot about the IRI's official narrative on Hizbollah vs. Israel last war, a faulty and inaccurate recollection of the short war:
- Israel won that war, just like all the other wars it has won since its birth. She achieved her objectives and established a balance of power in her favor vis a vis Hizbollah.
- Hizbollah established new facts on the ground: it's a capable military organization that can withstand superior Israeli military and can inflict pain on it.
- Hizbollah failed to protect Lebanese cities and population.
I am sure these enemies have learnt a great deal from their last exchange and have devised new tactics accordingly. But until an Arab army wins against Israel I continue to believe she will be the victor in the next war also.
Oh boy, you are in deep delusions.
Israel was holding a few Lebanese prisoners and wouldn't release them.
Hizbollah attacked Israel and captured two of their soldiers to exchange them.
Israel attacked Lebanon, firstly to release it's soldiers and secondly to annihilate Hezbollah fire power.
after 33 days of war, Israel achieve none of it's objective, to the last day of war, still Hezbollah's rockets were falling on Israeli cities and Israel with all of its surveillance systems on the ground, air and space couldn't stop them.
and finally Israelis bowed to Hizbollah demand for exchanging the prisoners.
but this wasn't the only humiliation,
during this war, Israel lost dozens of it's legendary tanks which were advertising as undefeatable, the humiliation was so deep that some people in Israel even wanted to close it's production line.
another humiliation was destroying the Israeli warship by Hizbollah on a live TV program, and again they had no excuse but to say it's defensive systems were offline, right in the middle of battle and within the enemy territory!
The army which once defeated the whole Arab armies in 6 days and dictated it's demands, now not only couldn't defeat a small armed group, but even bowed to their demand.
