Should the word 'defence' in the pakistan defence forum be removed?

It's a 8 year journey for me here on pdf...though I've become a member little later...the 'defence' content in the forum has been drastically reduced over the years...meaningful technical threads related to defence are a rarity these days!
With more no.of threads on social and cultural aspects.
If you look at the recent posts at any point of time...there are less then 5% of the threads on 'defence'.
So..is the word defence in pdf relevant any more?
I created this thread to see if my fellow members think the same.

Well what is defence?

Is it just about military equipment, weapons platforms and strategy+tactics?

Or is economics a part of it as well? How about national borders? How about the influence of competing cultures, within a country and between countries? The concept of religious influence in geopolitics, especially in the modern world? How about indirect/proxy warfare using the ethnic and religious fault lines within a country?

Most warfare these days is proxy warfare, you're not going to see much in terms of advanced jet fighters vs advanced jet fighters in the current world scenario.

The concept of religious influence in geopolitics, especially in the modern world? How about indirect/proxy warfare using the ethnic and religious fault lines within a country?

Most warfare these days is proxy warfare, you're not going to see much in terms of advanced jet fighters vs advanced jet fighters in the current world scenario.

That's why I joined Pakistan Defence Forum, and not Pakistan Military Forum.

As for your question as to when was the last time I discussed military platforms, just yesterday I was having a discussion on here about Type 096 SSBN and the AIP submarines we were transferring to Pakistan, and about their role in Pakistan's second-strike doctrine. Just check my post history.

There arent many such debates anymore,not many challenges for the intellect.

Because what the forum is, is defined by the individuals who frequent it. If it doesn't feel like a defence forum, we need to look at those who are causing this situation.
