AirForce Monthly - 2 Chinese AESA radar competing for Block 3

well i guess we will have to see then. you could have an irst but it would have to protrude out of the main body like the typhoon below. but that would require a re design of the entire system or you can just use the pirate irst

exactly we have got several chinese awesome bvr on cart however they have difference in coding standards (chinese on's are non nato) . pl15 like bvr missiles need compatible radars...vixen wouldnt give us meteor although denel dynamics could help us in that case but our existing inventory of chinese missiles need room in block 3 also so clearly from day 1 i know chinese radar will land in block 3

it depends on from where the sraam with iir seeker comes..
Could you expand on the bold part? HMD most likely be Chinese because everything else is Chinese!

Air cooling implies GaN devices are used for their being high power with less thermal activation..

the tech is quite sensitive . GaN is not something chinese are familiar with . Furthermore NRIET has good relations with PAC for KLJ-7 v1/2 , the new nose indicates that block 1 , 2 needs a custom made solution to easily fit in . the solution might be different from block 3 and jf17b due to difference in shaoe and sixes of nose
As far as I know GaN is so far the most promising and some folks have put them into sockets. Definitely, lots of R&D for extensive bandwidth engineering with new materials is going on. Are the Chinese using some other III-V devices or engineering GaN itself?

you spend way to much time with mexican's (i had to translate it)

anyway..... the jf-17 wont have this......

whilst the gripen does.

there are many things about block 3 that u will come to know in coming months...i cant say all but gripen ng seems inferior to block 3 ;-)

ok for an instance lets say u have thales or maybe striker 2 ...and at the same time u have PL-10E....how effective coyuld that scenerio be when compared to a chinese counterpart ? (p.s whatever i talk on this forum is strictly my own ideas and my aviation enthusiast group views....)

pardon me , not quite familiar with R&D processes so maybe @Deino @Beast @SinoSoldier might answer this one

Besides composite materials, they are basically at the point where an engine switch will need to happen. The JF-17 has been flying with the WS-13 in China, so that route is probable (ideally with WS-13E), but PAC did say it was interested in the RD-33MK as well. Klimov also has a RD-93MA program too.

The comment came from CATIC (i.e. the Chinese industry), not the PAF. The PAF has yet to decide. That said, CATIC's statements should be taken very seriously, as good a sign as any that Pakistan will need to localize its supply of air-to-air missiles, lest foreign industries try to vertically integrate on us by having us bundle their goods, even when we might want an alternative in specific areas.
If PAF induct J31 then switching to Ws13 makes sense.

Italy has offered us vixen several times and even when ACM visited italy . The fuss was actually created by us and meanwhile PAF was looking at different options and awaiting the Chinese development and wanted to know its true capabilities before coming to final decision..in this sense Vixen was the last hope for PAF
:)
Sir are you really not getting with @MastanKhan is asking or are just side stepping the question (it took lot ot pressing on his part to get a reply from your but your three replies to his question were all irrelevant and not addressing the point at hand. Eventually when it came, it was from @ziaulislam )
The question was, if it is true that Vixen was offered to us in the past, as it was, then what is this NEW CONCERN about the source codes? It must have been there in the start as well or may be THIS IS THE START!! :)
The weaponry is ONE reason. Other being more local input and assembly/maintenance/manufacturing rights. Something that we are actively looking to purse now.
"block 3 is what all of you dream of " - Straight outta kamra friend mouth
Do not read too much into it as people here are dreaming about retractable IFR probes (not happening), AESA (not happening from the START at least), IRST (not likely) more hard points for weapon systems (not likely). There are SO MANY things people are dreaming about but as for the info coming about Blk III there are loads of things that are just dreams even though the Blk III will have improved performance.
