India's Demand for Russia to Transfer Tech on PAK FA: Practical or Preposterous?

Which ever way India goes, it is a win win for Pakistan.

India need to make a Fighter desperately to counter JF-17 and India needs it done cheaply.
Do you even know how big is Indian Air force? What is JF -17 ?? An alien technology??
Stupidity on high level.

Again we have other markets , that's our bargin point. Our defense contracts are worth over 80,000cr ,We have historically rellied on Russian arms , most of our imports are Russian tech . If we move away to other markets Like we did by the Rafael deal , it will hurt the Russian market whole lot more . That's the reson why FGFA was put on a fast track in 2016. But none the less negotiations will go on for years , maybe after we buy few s400's they will offer the deal.

That aside , don't compare Chinese 5th gen to the Russian or American counterpart, the j20 has been mocked internationally , you literally still buy Russian 5th gen to reverse engineer it , sputnik has gone on record to state your "Xerox" plants still needs work in progess .

India still have Russia and only Russia to choose from if it want any sort of TOT. Forget about getting any tech for F-35 in the next 30 years. India will be lucky to get the plane itself. So it's either Russia or nothing. Daussault have no fifth generation fighter. Nor is anyone else except China. Whether you believe their J-20 or even J-31 is legit or not, it's not an option.

Dassault has directly went to 6th gen planes instead of wasting on 5th gen. We also started our own 6th gen ucav.
Hope we can get help from France using our money power rather than waiting for Russian 5th gen jets

So are you defining UCAV as 6th gen planes because you can't acquire any 5th gen planes? Sour grapes much?

There are few things to be distincted in airplane manufacturing roughly :

Materials, machining, joining parts in regard of fuselage

On board computer, sensor and integration, self defence system, navigation, diagnostics, fly by wire, arms integration

Engines

Russia is probably to hand over fuselage technologies and theirs project of airplane avionics architecture. If India tends to develop its own sensors and on board solutions, thats its bussinies. Engine ToT is off limits

India should be working on indigenous solutions in regard of avionics. Thats going to be handy in UAV and UCAV projects. More domestic researches and less relying on others in terms of sensitive tech

There are ucavs with advanced features -. They are being called 6th gen if I am not wrong.
Nothing to cry over us , money to buy is no issue to india

There are only 3 countries who have successfully tested 5th generation prototypes, the USA, China and Russia.
A fallacy. US is light years ahead when it comes to Fifth gen fighters. China has yet to produce and integrate J-20 in any meaningful numbers. Russia has most probably given up on Fifth gen for lack of funds. Lastly, Chinese goods, fighter or anything are always doubtful unless you are doing your own independent QA on it.

India had a few MIG25. Now retired.
They used to fly over China and Pakistan since there was nothing to counter it.
Once it did create a boom over Islamabad and your govt did talk about it.
Just use the Internet.

In fact, India then denied the incident. It was Pakistan that made it an issue.
MIG went over Mach2 at about 65k and your F16's were scrambled, which is obviously of no use.

this story sounds more far fetched then Modis bollywood SurJiKal strikes that took place in his anus.

stop spreading lies on the forum or you will be blocked.

The pace of how India buy weapons, Pakistan will have stealth jets way before India.
The question is if Pakistan will have enough money to buy those planes. Pakistan needed J-10s badly in 2000s but they didn't buy a thing even though China was ready to sell them.

LOL Russians can get 4 to 5 billion investment for PAK from many of More trusted Russian allies and China would Pay Russia 3 times more than India for TOT of any 5th gen Jet. What are the other Indian options for TOT of the 5th gen. Will India get TOT for F-35? Or can India get TOT for J-31. :omghaha:

Pakistan needs to first buy J-10X it wanted way back in 2000s :omghaha:. J-31 won't be there even till 2025 :omghaha:. If Pakistan had enough money, they would be buying Su-35 themselves :omghaha:. China has recently said that Su35 will be perhaps the last plane they buy from Russia and that too for its engine.

So, question is where will Russia go from here?

Can India get back its 295 millon $ paid initially for this project ????:undecided:

Why so much hate in your post towards Russia ?
Its a normal business !! As suitation changes India actually dosent need this project anymore unlike in past where Russia was the only country ready to share there advanced Tech with India. Thats why India demanding tech Transfer and other kinds of Talks, No body in this world will share this with Customer ........

But as we all know unlike USA or French, Russians are needy bunch which already sold there tech to china there is possiblity to extract TOT from them. So, anyhow if they out of need say yes then its a good deal for us.

Same time India is also in talks with grippen to co develop 5th gen AMCA and navel Varient Atogether taking forward current deal if materialized.
I feel grippen has now much better chances then F 16 considering there more readiablity and need as well to work together with DRDO and HAL in future and share TOT as well.
My take India should not go for FGFA anyhow, Joint development with sweden far far better way to move forward.

wah Logical Bhaiya.. muft me negative..

Of the 90 billion, the majority is tech support or consulting business by providing temporary Indian engineers to western companies. Tell me a major Indian software company that produce its own product?

There are plenty.

Zoho is the first name comes to mind. Completely Indian and about a quarter in revenue of Salesforce. Salesforces approached Zoho many times to purchase it, but it refused. It produces its own Network Management Systems, Cloud based Office Suite.

Then there are likes of InMobi, PayTM, Hike etc.

India has nowhere else to go. USA and France won't give up ToT, not even on 4.5 generation fighters.
If they wont give ToT then why buy from them? Especially if they are selling their wares to our enemies.

China should also consider buying Pak-Fa fighter.
