might be they are going to pay for this purchase as well same as the previous purchase of F-16 from Jordan ....

But purchasing something old and prone to sanctions also could have higher maintenance price, is not correct when JFT with AESA is coming and J-10 with AESA+IRST is also available.

LOL who told you That??? we already signed the Deal for 36 J-10 in way back in 2009 but later canceled due to fincial restrains so we won't have to wait for a decade or so

in conclusion? you don't have it. meaning? you have to build anew...

also J-10 has high avionics higher maneuverability and are Cheaper to maintain then Mirage 2000-9

Plus we can upgrade them anytime we want to J-10D standards also almost same weapons J-10 can carry which is carried by JF-17

in conclusion? you don't have it. meaning? you have to build anew...

We don't have it cause we (PAF) canceled it not China

I won't dispute ... wait & see as the same source reported about the negotiation for Qatari M2K-5 few months back .... I still have doubts ....

i dont think French will now come to under pressure from india after what they did wth rafale order..

May be but we cannot count that as an advantage for us like what if they come-up with such on next day however, UAE holds a good place with Dassault same as like a buyer with money.

Mirage will not be the alone offer to french, if M2k come it will be with the package for JF-17.

The case is unclear yet but can't say what details are in files. Rest assured, if it has to happen then it isn't Pakistan UAE understanding alone but Dassault is also taken into confidence so we can expect bonus goodies for such, we hear rumors time to time and possibility of the same for JF-17. Interestingly, Pakistan and France have already signed MOU for technical collaboration for JF-17 (specifically, engine harness/electrification with ToT), during Ideas, 2016 in Pakistan so what if we are getting closer contrary to turbulent relations in past.

@HRK @Khafee @Windjammer

PAF shall have a serious look at J10d, CAC is no joking.

Who knows what's happening behind the doors however, I think, it was reported by our Chinese Friends that bird is finalized but nothing concrete in this regard yet though, would be an interesting development and can attract once came into being and professionals looks at it. However, going through few pics surfaced back then about expected look of J-10D, indeed a beauty and hopefully would be proven as worthy as assumed. Best of luck... I must say..

Getting these used M2K-9s will only make sense if they are costing us much less than producing a JF-17. It will be an unfamiliar platform and gaining proficiency on it will take time. Training, infrastructure and parts acquisition costs will be incurred. The similarity of M2K-9 with the existing PAF Mirages are limited to both being French and are tailless deltas. But that is where the similarity ends. M2K is a FBW-CCV technology fighter with different performance specs, handling characteristics and avionics and sensors suite. It would not be like purchasing used F-16s ... whose infrastructure and maintenance know-how we already have.

So if we purchase used and out of production unfamiliar M2Ks then its not going to be a simple sync-in to air operations like the used F-16s are for the PAF. But if we do go this route we could be inadvertently sending out the message that the JF-17 is not all that capable as we are going thru all the hassle of the induction of used out of production M2Ks. Also the spare parts base for the M2K is not as extensive as the F-16s. Hence acquiring spare parts in the future may also become a hassle. Hence as a result we might find it a bit more difficult to sell the JF-17 after such a deal.

We got them when they where in Production, NOT AFTER.
All of our ROSE platforms were purchased after production had stopped and most of them were moth balled by their original operators.

Thanks for Correcting me ..

Of course its just a Option , and i am just sharing my opinion over it , even if PAF is considering they would have already deal with every Possible question we can think off ..

Agree .

Mirage 2000-9 can be Good for Ground Attack role , no doubt and hopefully we can Incorporate Ra'ad with it as well like we did with ROSE III/V . but than i wonder how Mirage 2k9 are different from JF block 3 by keeping the information we have about the new system which will be put in block 3 ? wont both be at par with each other except for Payload ?

UAE recently Love relationship with India make things shaddy between two nations anyway , and i have no reason to believe that habibi will give Mirages2K9 for a low price ..rest you can read post#39
I agree with you...but they are very diplomatic...

Whats the purpose ? I dont see any considerable advantage in Mirage vis-a-vis Thunder. So, why not go for more JF17 and spend the money on its R&D.

Main advantage is you will get a well reputed fighter with much more weapons loads and range. Thunder too a good fighter but still in his teenager but MK-2009 a mature F-16 block 52 class fighter.

If the deal in Finalize than its most probably because of some Corruption or Kick backs ..

or strategic/diplomatic move

there is no Strategic or Diplomatic move in buying a Old Fighter with tons of Problems ..PAF have rejected J-10 for the very same reason and if they buy this now , this clearly means there is some Air commodore making good bucks or property in Dubai ..
