Indian police arrested on Monday a man for hoisting the green flag on top of his house in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

Kapil Shastri was detained and the flag seized after locals reported he had hoisted the flag.

Police subsequently registered a case against the man under Section 153 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Shastri was found responsible for “promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race or residence,” SHO Anil Jaimini said.

“Primary probe reveals the accused is not mentally fit and he picked up the flag few years ago from a slum and brought to his house.”

The hoisting of flags is a tense issue between the two nuclear-armed arch-rivals, which have recently been at loggerheads following the death of a popular rebel leader Burhan Wani in Kashmir.

The situation in the held valley further deteriorated after 60 more people protesting the killing were shot dead by Indian forces.

While the waving of green flag by Kashmiri protesters is a common sight, a Pakistani fan of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli was arrested and subsequently bailed after he hoisted Indian flag on his rooftop in Punjab on January 26.

May be the true sequence is : The man picked flag from a slum and now he is not mentally fit.

Congress people are more dangerous. These BJP guys are less educated, more cultured, and thus less poisonous. Just look at the position Pakistan stands now, and the situation Pakistan was facing in congress era. Modi is a better person than any congressy hypocrite.

hmmmm well honestly we called that stupid act. There is no need to feel insecure when common people hoist flag of any country even enemy one. Unless its an elected parliamentarian or a politician
