Vasai orphanage 'forces' Muslim siblings to eat pork

AM not rich, Beef is extremely expensive to make for the environment and resources and uses huge amounts of water. Almost 1/4th of the amazon rain forest has been destroyed in making a Beef farm. If the Beef/Any Animal farming was stopped and all the agricultural and water was used in actual growth of Agricultural crops. Cost of food would come down considerably...

I was speaking about the cost of purchase for the common man.

Some interesting facts. Even environmentally, beef comes second to mutton, and just ahead of cheese (paneer included). Fish and pork come next. And then chicken.

The point I was making to you was cost of purchase between the two common red meats, mutton and beef. Fish is even more expensive depending on which variety you eat.

But even environmentally, beef is not the worst offender. Lamb (mutton) is. Which was also the side point I made about (environmental) cost of rearing.

My entry into the debate was specific in that it skirted the economics and spoke to the fairness of the blanket ban in a country that is secular.

P.S. could someone politely request the buzurg to stop making a pony with long ears out of himself and excuse us from his inane meaningless pomposity. I would be hugely grateful for the same.

Nine girls, including three Muslim siblings, belonging to a Vasai orphanage have complained to the police against the 'sister' running the home. While the three siblings have alleged that they were forcibly made to eat pork, the others said they were assaulted and harassed by the 'sister' without rhyme or reason.

The minor children living in the Handmaids of the Blessed Trinity Rosa Mystica convent at Madi Naka in Vasai West complained to the police about the torture and humiliation they were subjected to. The three Muslim girls alleged that they were forced to eat leftover food which had pork in it.

Seema Creado, a former teacher with the orphanage, said, "I could see that the kids were given stale food with fungus all over it. The worst part is that they were tortured and forced to convert. The kids were not given food for several days after they denied eating stale jam. Sister Eliza later forced them to eat bread, which was kept for a week."

Father of the Muslim girls from Diva told dna, "We don't want the kids to suffer anymore. Earlier, they used to complain quite often but we turned a blind eye, thinking they were doing this to come back home. After we learnt that they were forced to eat pork, we decided to bring them back and made them join another school."

Narrating their ordeal, the elder sibling said, "Sister told us that if we complain to the police, her staff will rape. Instead of softening their stand, they abused us and made us work full day."

Anita Bhagat, investigation officer from Vasai police station, said, "We have booked sister Eliza and other staff members of the orphanage under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act. We had sent them a notice but they did not come to give their version. Instead, they took anticipatory bail from the Vasai court."

When dna contacted sister Eliza, she refused to comment, saying: "I can't tell you anything, I'm busy." Thereafter, she didn't take calls from this correspondent, nor did she call back.

Forced to eat pork and threats of rape to convert, all hail Secular India.
Ssshhh...Stop..This one doesn't count!:stop:

Both done by minorities against each other, its actually quiet common.
Believe me, the temperament of Christians are far better than you Hindus and Muslims. And this is not about neo-converts and about protestants.

In the fight between religions the followers of Asgård have the winning argument!

Maybe on CO2 impact, but the water intake and not to mention the amount of food required. The food which takes valuable agricultural land to grow. In the end it becomes a wasteful use of agriculture. I don't eat meat much, been ages since i had chicken or mutton. Besides....it just feels wrong to kill a sentient life form just to satisfy taste buds Sooner or later 30-40 years down the line we will have to significantly reduce meat production and change to crops to satisfy the global food demands. Maybe by then, there will be artificial created meat..

I said meat, not beef. You will have to make a choice. The bitter truth is, 10-20 years down the line there wont be enough food to feed everyone. Sacrifices will have to be made to feed the growing population...

I would like to continue to think of you as narrow-minded and unfit for society. Your posts are confusing the whole issue.
