How exactly can their subsystems be treated "as equals" when there is barely any information about them? That would be like the Chinese claiming that their J-31 is "better" than the F-35 because it merely happens to have twin engines (while all other factors remain unknown).

Apparently, you have not heard of the Schrödinger's cat paradox.

When you have encounter 2 possible scenario that are unknown to you, and those two scenario are mutually exclusive to each other (eg a coin toss), until the event is unfold in front of you, the result are neither it is or it isn't

So, under the Schrödinger's cat paradox, when 2 things that are unknown to you, you either have to "Discount" or "Equate" the result until the result is shown. In this case, each subsystem is both or neither superior than each other, until a definite result (in the experiment - the box is opened) can be proved otherwise.

while 052D has far better AESAs than the outdated monkey version PESAs in Atago!

Besides, China built AESAs,Missiles, Gas Turbine by itself!

Japan can only built the hull for Atago!
