What's new

Muslims, Christians sons of Ram, those who don't believe it should leave India: BJP minister

Tipu Sultan is not a freedom fighter. He never fought for 'Indian' independence. Plus, he was a bigot. By that yardstick the Moplah rebellion was a freedom movement.

As said earlier if Tipu Sultan is not an Indian freedom fighter so is Laxmi Bai, Nana Saheb, Tatya Tope etc... And whether he is a bigot or not is a controversial topic, Moplah rebellion initially started as a fight against Brits but turned nasty later on...

She made a mistake. She slipped. She apologized. Scolded by Modi. She is back to her work. :D

but indian democracy with g8 opposition is sewwter than honey now

No. Not thousands. Vande Mataram is a central aspect to Indian nationalism - accepting the supremacy of the Motherland, the nation.

I am too puny to define him for you. You have make your own discovery. And forget about 'chariots and stuff'. Read it again.

That is your POV. Not necessarily the truth... I asked for literal meaning of name Ram. I did not ask you to define him...

Rani Laxmi Bai and Tantya Tope united for a greater cause. Tipu butchered his fellow Indians and mass converted thousands. Nothing is controversial. All of this is a fact and taught in Indian senior history as well as all over the world. The Moplah rebellion was a jihadi insurrection. It was like that from the beginning. Islamist like it, but for non Muslims like us - No. Period.

I can understand your hatred for Rani Laxmi and co. though.

Not my POV at all. I am stating the facts that are there. Atheists, Muslim Indian nationalists alike died with those words. I will not provide the meaning of Ram to you. You will have to start looking for Answers yourself. Start with Google.

Yes Sir you understand very little of India

Just because A right wing government is in power ; it does not give them freedom to
do as they please ; Governments work within the ambit of the constitution

By talking of election history I meant to say that Previously too BJP has been in power
and India has remained secular

It has always been difficult for Pakistanis to accept that India is a SECULAR country
with 170 million Muslims

Obviously we are NOT perfect BUT India is the BEST country for Muslims
IF they are in a minority ie as compared to even US and UK

Finally there is nothing called Institutionalising Hindutva within the corridors of power
That is because In various Government Departments the people
who work there work according to RULES and NOT in an arbitrary manner
and rules are framed according to the constitution

Also please remember that Hindus are NOT a monolithic community
there are all shades of Hindus ; liberal ;secular ; conservative etc

If a Communal minded minister TRIES to run his / her agenda then
he or she will be opposed by the bureaucracy and when such
communal activities will be leaked to the press ; then there will be a big uproar

The earlier attempts of saffronisation of education were strongly opposed
by the bureaucracy ; media ; and the people in general

India has ENOUGH Institutional Checks and Balances to keep such elements in check

Again, none of this has any impact on Pakistani or non Pakistani. Your perception that my only impression of India is from PDF is rather flawed, I know too many Indians which includes family to know that your idea that the institutionalization of extremism is easily doable given that the constitution can be made to stand by. Look at the Babri incident, the burning of Hindus on the train.. the Indian state just stood by only to react and not pre-empt.

The difference with your idea that the state will bounce back is negated by the fact that all previous iteration had one of the two operating pillars of state on the other side. When there were communal tendencies in the public, the government remained generally secular, when the government went communal(although BJPs previous tenure was hardly that) the public was not flared up with communal hatred. Here it seems that a political campaign run with a communal tint has brought in a government that is determined to continue that communal line. For the first time both the Indian state and vote bank is fuelled by communal bigotry. And with regards to Modi and his worship, he is a great business leader.. but the Godhra riots are ample proof that he prefers his seat over cooling or interfering in communal affairs. He is as much to stand by this time as well if an incident is sparked and it leads to the massacre of Muslims in India.

I agree, it was a mistake and should have been avoided. But look above the hatred being spewed. And the self hate on display here makes me want to puke. But anyway, leave it.

Your point is well taken

It is true that BJP has members who are hardliners and
and the larger Sangh Parivar like VHP / RSS are trouble makers
but STILL they can ALL be handled and tackled with
the combined participation of the media ;judiciary and the citizens themselves

There is no such thing as rising communal bigotry

You must appreciate the fact that so called secular parties
themselves create communal trouble in their respective states
to SHOW to Muslims that only the secular parties will protect them

And above all here in India ; SIX months have gone by
Modi's HONEYMOON period has ended :p: ( Funny Isnt It since he is a Bachelor )

Now he has to deliver people are waiting for the economy to show some
more traction and momentum

Any misstep will be fatal for Modi

All these JOKERS will be soon read the RIOT act and gagged soon

She made a mistake. She slipped. She apologized. Scolded by Modi. She is back to her work. :D

It was not a slip- it was a deliberate statement, she retracted only because of the backlash.

What BS, constitution has never been made a standby except for 2 years in emergency. You're taking your own BS and passing it off as wisdom. We have only one constitution and that goes back all the way to 1952. We don't debate whether 1970s constitution was better than 1980s or whether this amendment was better than that and whatnot.

She made a mistake. She slipped. She apologized. Scolded by Modi. She is back to her work. :D

And above all Modi got a reality check that all his efforts and hard work
can go down the drain because of such JOKERS who must now be
handled in a pre emptive manner

All potential trouble makers must be identified and kept on a tight leash

Just because you and your fellow ideologists state this, doesn't mean that they are always correct. I am sure your version of history has been discussed many times right here on PDF... Don't really think there is a need for one more of such discussions.

I can understand your hatred for Rani Laxmi and co. though.

LOL I don't hate Rani Laxmi Bai(May be the Scindias did) though I am sure you would want to prove otherwise....:coffee:

"Facts" of yours may or may not be accepted by all and would be challenged. So that will end up as being your POV for others.....

But I would want to know the literal meaning of Ram from your side. And don't worry I would google it up just to verify as I won't believe in unverified things...

Technically they also united for their own cause only. They were both linked to feudal and ancestral rights. That's why it is more important not to judge people before the united idea emerged in the 20th century. All people before that, no matter who it was, should be considered a hero as long as they opposed the british. Else the same kind of stupid holes can be found in praising Laxmi Bai as can be found in praising Tipu.

Yes, that is the normal expected course, but what happens when the state is subverted?

Also Hindutva is the character of our constitution and the principles our country was formed on. So Hindutva doing the job when the state has failed is dharma.

That cannot be an excuse for you now since BJP is in power, are you implying that BJP government is not competent enough to control Islamic extremism as per the law of the land that some other religious bodies have to do it?
