Johns Hopkins Scientist Reveals Shocking Report on Flu Vaccines

As if this was for the first time. Certain posters suffer with a syndrome which makes them believe that they are 'Master' of all trades whereas they are not even 'Jack' of any. These posters are better left alone for them to read and praise their own posts. A 'self-thank' button may help with symptoms I guess.

Flu vaccine is a prophylactic vaccine that is recommended to certain groups susceptible to influenza infection. Unlike polio vaccine, vaccination against influenza cant be (and never intended to) used to eradicate the disease.

In order to keep the immune system relevant to the threats, it is not a bad idea to get exposed to virulent strains from time to time. Being a RNA virus, the influenza virus mutates fast and therefore vaccines need to be modified every season. This appears not to be sustainable as in doing so, we are pressurizing the virus to mutate at faster rates. This may lead to the emergence of highly mutated and highly virulent virus, which may wreak havoc long before an effective treatment was made available.

Discussing vaccine-related dangers cant be equated with anti-vaccine drive. Vaccines have their fair place in preventing certain diseases from happening but vaccine are not silver bullets either, nor are they as safe as many wist to believe.

Flu is a debilitating disease, makes one to stay at home both because of the symptoms, and potential spread. Employers don't want the employees to get sick and take leaves, hence push their employers to take flu shots. In doing so, they certainly are protecting their interests while paving way for the emergence of highly virulent influenza strains.

OK, your comment makes sense for me. But, I need more explanation about this part:
Discussing vaccine-related dangers cant be equated with anti-vaccine drive. Vaccines have their fair place in preventing certain diseases from happening but vaccine are not silver bullets either, nor are they as safe as many wist to believe.

Can you quantify it? In how many cases they do not act as what they supposed to act? How serious the side effects can be, and how much prevalent it is?

@Akheilos In sum, Should I receive flu shots for this year or not?

Already took it.

Let's wait for our medical doctors to see if you will survive or not
Anyway, the good point about engineering is that we don't put people in a shadow of doubt about our products :big_boss:

Sounds a little but hurt people...

Hmm he does seem to be an associate editor at BMJ..
