Recently I came across something interesting. South Korea, the highly successful vehicle manufacturing nation has become involved with India and Indian companies in unusual ways. And some of these Korean companies are involved in Pakistan:

Daewoo is the first and the biggest foreign investment Company with an advanced and organized transport system in Pakistan. It is the only transport company to have nationwide network with various international trade links. Being a transport service provider the company owns a large fleet of buses, Technically Advanced Workshops to maintain the fleet for the safety of the passengers, State of the Art Terminals, Training Institutes for Drivers and Mechanical Staff.

Daewoo has been rendering transport facilities for the last 15 years to the people of Pakistan and appreciated by the masses simultaneously highly praised by the Governments of Pakistan as well as Korea for its consistent success. Media of both the countries often express appreciation for the revolutionary accomplishment of the Company in transport sector, through various channels.

And here is Daewoo wiki page:

Tata Daewoo
Founded 2002
Headquarters Gunsan, South Korea
Key people Ratan Tata, Chairman
Products Commercial vehicles
Parent Tata Motors

Tata Daewoo (officially Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company) is a commercial vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea and a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors. It is the second-largest heavy commercial vehicle manufacturer in South Korea.

The company as established in 2002 as Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co. Ltd, after it was spun off from parent Daewoo Motor Co. Ltd. In 2004 it was acquired by Tata Motors, India's largest passenger automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturing company. Tata Daewoo has CKD Projects in India and Pakistan. Tata Daewoo-Korea and Afzal Motors-Pakistan signed a Technical Assistance Agreement on 12 December 2005 in Pakistan. The CKD Plant of Afzal Motors in Pakistan was inaugurated by Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shaukat Aziz on 8 January 2007. Afzal Motors is assembling a wide range of Daewoo Commercial Vehicles including Daewoo Prime Movers, Daewoo Truck Chassis and Daewoo Dump Trucks. Tata Daewoo and Afzal Motors are in final stage to export Daewoo Trucks assembled in Pakistan to Middle East and Central Asaian Stats. Daewoo Trucks are being sold across the globe under the Daewoo and Tata Daewoo as well.

So looks like India is using Korea to reach Pakistan, Middle-east and Central Asia market. SsangYong Motors is also owned (70%) by Mahindra & Mahindra:

Korea and India apparently are strategic partners:

Daewoo is not the only company where Indians control a stake in Pakistan but that is what is known as globalization in business.
That is the idea behind the whole peace and aman parade so that people can conduct business and provide jobs for those in need of it.
By that logic, the US which sold Pakistan 500 AMRAAM missiles and sophisticated jets is also proposing a century partnership, Hamdard Laboratories is split between India and Pakistan.

Joint Indian-Pakistani ventures arent a new thing nor are Indian investors in Pakistan. A Businessman will go where there is money to be made. The Israeli's were paid millions by Pakistan in the 90's for parts and electronic equipment.

Korea sold 8 frigates to India and apparently they are a strategic partner of India:

pray tell us the source of this bizzare news because afaik,India hasn't bought a single frigate from S.Korea.on the contrary we are trying to buy 4-8 minesweepers from them.
India recently bought 6 Krivak-III class frigates from Russia and is planning to buy a further 3 Krivak-IV class from them.plus we are building our own stealth Sivalik class frigates at home.so there is no apparent need of additional Frigates as of now.but it may happen in the near future if the I.N. really decides to buy a few S.Korean guided missile destroyers!

Daewoo had significant presence in Pakistan before Tata acquired it, hence it is continuing its operations. I doubt whether Pakistan would have allowed a Tata subsidiary in Pakistan. It is also interesting to note that Daewoo is known as Tata-Daewoo everywhere except in Pakistan where it is known as Daewoo Express with no mention of Tata anywhere. Indian Investment in anathema in Pakistan. If Pakistan would have allowed Indian Investments, India would have been the largest Investor in Pakistan given similar culture and shared history.

Profit from Tata's ventures can finance Indian govt. projects to destabilize neighboring countries. Until India changes its policies towards its neighbors, people need to be careful about getting involved with Indian companies or foreign companies with Indian control and ownership. Aman Ki Asha is meaningless till India actually changes its actions on the ground.

It is better to look for alternatives that can provide the same jobs and do not have Indian hand involved in it. Chinese automotive technology is not as mature as Korean, but they are getting there fast, in about 4-5 years max.

My bad, I think I read it some where, but this is not true, I will edit my post, thanks for pointing out the error.
