New Delhi police fire water cannon at India rape protest

Welcome to world of Democracy !

Protests are perhaps new to you but they are daily phenomena in democracies.
you are going to say that after we saw wild protests about the prophet film thing? try again buddy

First they rape those poor women and then they hose them down with Water. Looks like the poor women in India get HOSED DOWN against their will, one way or the other.

Are you sure you want my take on that?

So you think protesters must have been allowed to gather in front highly sensitive buildings, right?
sensitive does'nt mean restricted..rajpath is not a restricted area..and even protests are not restricted..

Don't know jack about Delhi but this is what I have read in the news item.

Dozens of police, some equipped with bamboo canes, flanked the water cannon as it blasted out on to the thousands of protesters assembled by New Delhi's historic India Gate.

Some demonstrators attempted to break through the security barriers blocking access to the country's government district, parliament building and presidential palace.

Others chanted, punched the air in defiance and waved banners as the police sought to disperse them from Raisina Hill, the seat of Indian power.

seriously..i didnt knw that...what was the topic which caused the greatest tension?

They were protesting against an Industrial Waste pipeline.

Thousands of protestors attacked the Government offices, and forced the Mayor of Qidong (he is also the Local Party Secretary) to strip his clothes and wear an anti-pollution T-shirt instead.

Result? The Government cancelled the pipeline.

Regarding bold part: :woot:

There were 180,000 protests in China in one year, tell me how many days are in one year?

Unrest on Rise as China Booms - WSJ.com

In 2010, China was rocked by 180,000 protests, riots and other mass incidents—more than four times the tally from a decade earlier. That figure, reported by Sun Liping, a professor at Tsinghua University, rather than official sources, doesn't tell the whole story on the turmoil in what is now the world's second-largest economy.
