The 23 MM guns have maximum range of about 2 km, so it is a joke if you "shot" our plane with that. Even according to the article you posted in this thread the syrian spokesman says

Syrian airspace was anti-aircraft artillery firing 23.57 rounds stationed on Syrian beaches, hitting the aircraft directly, adding that the aircraft was seen heading left afterwards and crashing in Syrian territorial waters.

wait if the plane was shot outside and it crashed inside? the shot caused the plane to go backward? i cant see the correct physics is in this formula your telling me, because your saying 1 km is seconds, since the plane is outside and heading outside it will fall outside, right?

The F-4 was making radar tests on different altitudes. Starting off with around 21.000 feet (in international waters), and then going down to around 8.000 feet (still in international waters), and then around 7.000 feet (in turkish airspace border Hatay).
The Jet then leaves Turkish borders and flies in international waters with lower altitude, down to 2.000 feet:

The jet is now going lower in altitude, down to 200 feet, and here it is crossing Syrian borders for 5 minutes (11.42-11.47), here the Jet is recieving a warning from Turkish air force that it is off track and needs to return back to its track:

The jet is now back on track, and flies in Turkish and later in international waters. The jet is being shot at, at 11.58 when it is on international waters, and it is now loosing controle and crashes 1 km inside Syrian borders:

I've tried to illustrate it here on MS paint, and you can see it's shot when the jet was on the international waters:

yeah the plane headed left and fell, so? anyway the plane was show down 1 km away from Syrian shores at low altitude, it got hit and then crashed 10 km away from Syrian shores.

If you claim it was hit by anti-aircaft (aa) artillery by Syrian army then it is possibly this one 100 mm air defense gun KS-19 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia since this is your best aa gun. The KS-19 has a maximum horizontal range of 21 km and maximum vertical range of 12,700 m.

Now if the KS-19 is placed on the farthest beach of your land then the Turkish plane must have been at least 21 km since the plane was out of Syrian national waters (the international protocol says that longer than 21 km is international waters). So, can you explain to me how your best aa gun who has maximum range of 13 vertical km, shoot down a plane that was about 21 vertical km far?

if the gun was 100mm gun then the damage was not in the tail ,it was all over the plane each shell of that cannon produce hundreds of shrapnel and those will make a screen in front of the aircraft and it ran into it . on other hand a 23mm gun is a direct hit one and can produce the damages mentioned in the article .

Anyway i got to go, but before i leave, the people of Turkey need to realize that Erdogan is using Bush method of war on Afghanistan, which is make the American people emotional and start war. and now Erdgoan is trying to get sympathy from the Turkish people to gain support to start a war, since many Turkish people dislike Erdogan policy against Syria.

I like that, we will see what's gonna be, both will keep their claims, Turkey wants war, it called on NATO quickly. of course USA used Turkey to start the war, we will see.

He noted that Syrian anti-air defenses repelled violations by Israeli enemy airplanes in that same area in 2007 and that those aircrafts weren't shot down then because that breach was different and unexpected and had a military nature.

So if they trespass again will you shoot them down?

Syria intentionally shot down a Turkish jet in international airspace with a missile on Friday, Turkey's vice prime minister said yesterday.

Bulent Arinc told the cabinet: "The facts in our possession show that our plane was hit by a heat-seeking guided laser missile."

And Mr Arinc told a televised news conference yesterday that Syrian forces fired on a second Turkish plane that was searching for the wreckage of the downed RF-4E reconnaissance jet.

He did not say whether the search plane was hit but said the Syrians stopped shooting after a warning from the Turkish military. He added Turkey will push Nato today to consider Syria's action as an attack on the whole military alliance.

Listen everyone , this incident i think is good ( other than pilots obviously ) because it really showed real intentions of syria , so now let see who loses out , our coward prime minister doesnt want to attack , but he said if any syria plane comes near our border will be shot without warning , 2. now we should arm the rebels although we never before now its the time . If they want to play a game , so be it
