one bill/law can not eliminate corruption ...
it you and me who did and encurage it ...
I suggest you read up on what the Lok Ayukta did to the mining mafia and land mafia in Karnataka. A law/Bill does make a big difference. We can no longer rely on the bottom up approach for clean up. We need to shake up the system from the top. You and me do not make up the swiss(or any other tax haven) accounts.

its just one protest man, c'mon its just the media hyping it up..bet there weren't even that many people there..its like Nawaz Sharif's two block "long march" lol

that's the main point , is anna hajare a consitutional expert ,
how then he can force the govt to pass/present only his bill ?
then whoes bill is he pushing , shanti bhushan and prakash bhushan's bill >>>
what is the back ground of bhushan family , they made over 500crores in last 15 years , how ?

when in april anna haare comes to delhi , it was just a anshan against corruption , then suddenlly from no where bhushan family comes in and change the agenda towards lokpal bill , why ?....
why the US had made that statement ?
isn't it raise suspision ?

1)Anna Hazare has a lot of weird ideas in his head. Alot I don't agree with. This one I do fundamentally agree with. His team including the former Lok Ayukta of Karnataka (Constitutional expert), Kiran Bedi (IPS officer) and the Bhushans (eminent lawyers) are capable enough to draw up a bill. With Law experts like PC and Sibal on the UPA side, it would be foolish not to have equal heavy weights for Anna.
2)Regarding the Bhushans and their wealth. I would have less faith in a professional who wasn't able to use his intelligence and capabilities to go beyond earning a living. They are a family of lawyers. Of course they made that much money. Does the money make them less capable? I think it's a reflection of their success in the profession. The govt.would love to face lesser lawyers.
3)US involvement?? Sure, you can believe that conspiracy theory. I honestly look at facts.Fact is I am sick and tired of politicians going scot free despite being indicted of corruption. Only the media furors off late helped pout certain individuals behind bars.

Lok Ayukta report in karnatake will still go though the already extablish procceres in the court to prove guilty ..

net result is that even after lokpal , the matters will still be investigated by investigating agencies and only court will decide the last verdict...
what difference it makes , all these sysyems still exists...

Actually, every city and town in India joined in.It was unprecedented.

Which is exactly why Santosh Hegde is in the committee drafting the bill. To ensure this doesnot happen to the Lokpal Bill.

you know the entire india medis is on the payrole of FII's which are holding major shares in almost every india news channal....these channals recice funds from them...
so , presently in india the only free body is the parliament and the court , by passing the bhushans bill , even these two insitutions will be under pressure to perform freely...
after passing the bhushan's bill , you can make alligation against PMO or Court and bring the country to a hilt ....

JP movement was even bigger , what benifits that bring to india ?

lokpal will only recive the compaint alligation..
the alligations will still be investigated by agaencies and decided by court..

You mean during the emergency? I believe that bluff has already been called by the civil society. And does failure of one movement mean we sit on our butt saying we cannot change anything? That's not the values I grew up with.

Which is why the new draft is being proposed. Have you read the draft?

MMS had actually supported this clause before he was overruled by his party members and he stepped back. Any comments on that?

I think we are missing the forest for the trees.

The levels of organised and institunalised corouption in India is such that for every Rupee spent less than 20 paisa reaches the point of application.

The beneficiaries for this 80p looted are the Politicians, Babus & middle men. In fact there now runs an enterprise of middle men - they call themselves ' laisioners'. Nothing moves without them.

What Anna is trying to get is a law that creates transparency and puts everyone who is involved in its ambit. This obviously bites Political Parties whose personal & party funds largely come from here. The act would be akin & more than the RTI Act.

The Govt ( it just so happens that a Congress led Govt is in Delhi , any other combination would have also done the same ) wants to keep the PM etc out of the purview and have created a user friendly bill.

The bill shall obviously not be a magic wand to sweep away all ills but shall be the first time for a bottom - up change in National laws. This may be a percussor for more changes in future.

all the systems against corruption already exists...
there are law , you can fill a compaint in polic or in court....
the only new thing in the draft is to inculde in PM and the court under the lokpal
after passing the bhushan's bill , you can make alligation against PMO or Court and bring the country to a hilt ....

My reply to this was "MMS had actually supported this clause before he was overruled by his party members and he stepped back. Any comments on that?"

Plus, most importantly have you actually read the draft?

What benefits?? How about the fact we have democracy in India today? If Mrs. Gandhi didn't get a taste of people power, we might have easily slid into a dictatorship. Our systems continue to get better all the while & the biggest gain of the JP movement is that we today take our democratic rights & our freedom as a given. I would say that is no small achievement.

history has proven record that domestic unstablity never benifited the countries economy as the investers takes a step back ...

is anna hajare's attitude to over throw the paliamentery systems and trying to dectate term is justified ?

is it correct to compare anna hajare with gandhi ?

who going to benifited by this aggitatio/nandollan , india public or those who are looking envy towards indian growing economic status ?

All this talk about eliminating corruption is as ridiculous as someone trying to eliminate SIN. You will never eliminate corruption. However, with enough checks and balances you may reduce it and make system more transparent. Even then there will be politicians who will try to beat the system. Also look out for powerful politicians that use anti corruption laws to eliminate their political competition and yet will be corrupt themselves.

Good luck to Indians. In Pakistan the corruption is so rampant we have to line up all of the politicians in front of a FIRING SQUAD. Only a massive purge will reduce the level of corruption in my homeland.

There are plenty of eminent jurists & constitutional experts who go along with the government's position on the PM's inclusion. If you have read Santosh Hegde's remarks which were made yesterday, he is open to the idea of the PM & higher judiciary being kept out of the Lokpal's ambit if the government accepts some of the other clauses.

draft is widly available on net....i read it , didn't find anything new which is already not there in present system of law..the only difference is that you can make compaint against PMO and court in new bill...

MMS had actually supported this clause but in future it not going to help PMO to work frelly coz everytime PMO makes a policy , it will be reported to lokpal to investigate , how PMO going to work in such case...
every time PMO alot a fund to IB /RAW /MI , it will be reported , how indian security aganecies going to function ...?
there are a lot of policies PMO works upon in the intrest of the nation , but it all going to be disturbed if every second day , lokpal going to recive and start a investigation on PMO...
just tell me how country going to function then...
