T-129 Atak & Turkish Attack Helicopter Programs

Wow .. Sorry to say, but while the Hürjet looks nice, the TFX/MMU interesting, this one is only ugly.

As far as we know, this is a prototype, hence, changes are expected.

What's more important, this is a low-resolution, zoomed in, pixeled and distorted screenshot taken from afar.

We had the same issue with the TFX until the proper visuals were released.

Thank god this is just experimental prototype
:D Why ... I personally like ugly flying armours.

I think everyone now having a problem with the barrel forward angle of the 30mm gun in relation to the FLIR position and the forward flight angle of the aircraft. We do not yet know what is calculated in this regard, what the nose area is preserved for. I don't know, but there is a possibility that the radar placement may be considered embedded in the nose. It is possible that we will be able to see some changes with the FLIR position and placement, but if the nose cone will be preserved, I think we should consider other possibilities.

Exactly, purpose of this kind of chopper is to mount as many sensors, armor, weapons and ammunition, deliver it in shortest period of time and move away, who cares about aesthetic appeasement.

Now heavy utility 10ton chopper and that would be it for certain period of time while maturing production and platforms iteself.

Flir camera is just above the cannon, and the landing gear is too low, this shows the prototype a bit unprofessional not just ugly.
Of course, we know that this is not the final design, but there are too many people who want to slander the systems we have built both in insade and outside.

its been developed very fast but then again they already have T129 experience to work from

ATAK II with 16 x ATGM will be amongst the very top tier of attack helicopters

Yes, it can carry 16 ATGMs, so typical payload could be 2 A-A missiles, 16 ATGMs and 30mm main gun. Or it can carry 8 ATGMs as well as 4 smart loitering ammunition systems(like Roketsan Alpagut). The design specs for the helicopter say that it will have a maximum load capacity of 1500kg. The total maximum take-off weight is 11.5 tonnes. This puts it at the top of the list of heavy attack helicopters currently in existence or under development. For example, the specs given for the AH-64E/F are 10.5 tonnes maximum take-off weight and approximately 1 tonne payload.

However, the ATAK-II platform will have quite unusual approaches too. There will be some missile types that will be developed specifically for this platform. Here, we can probably talk about drone-like loitering ammunition groups. In other words, we are talking more about BLOS and long-range engagement capabilities. It would be more useful to think of the helicopter as a part of the tactical network and one of the layers of network-centred warfare, rather than as an isolated system in the combat environment. For example, In modern warfare conditions, drone-assisted combat concepts have become an important field of study. Attack helicopters will also start to use the advantages of this.
