What's new

Hellenic Navy: Construction of the second FDI HN frigate begins.

GOKDENIZ is naval version of KORKUT which is already in service ( same technology )

and now Turkiye modernize MEKO-200 Frigates with GOKDENIZ 35mm CIWS
So there is no certified Gokdeniz on board.
It WILL....WILL....installed in MEKO sometime in 2025.

GOKDENIZ = KORKUT ( same platform for Ships or Mobile Vehicles ) and KORKUT is in service since 2019

GOKDENIZ 35 mm CIWS is ready ,,,,
even Turkiye export GOKDENIZ to Turkmenistan , Pakistan and Philippines
now C92 Corvette produced for Turkmenistan use GOKDENIZ 35 mm CIWS

and not 2025 , but may 2023 for the first modernization MEKO-200 which equipped with GOKDENIZ 35 mm CIWS will be delivered to the Turkish Navy .... ( 8 months later )

When he says "to" or "has" you should translate it "maybe, will, might". Istanbul class isn't in service yet and he talks about TF-2000 and future OPVs and dominance in 2030. Of course,we have our own problems with the Navy and government not deciding to do finally buy Corvettes and modernize the MEKO 200HN. It's September and they still haven't decided which corvettes to buy.

I am very irritated by this, because they are sacrificing the defense of the country, for the shipyards, which will be ready after......3 years, if an agreement is finally reached and signed in 2023.

This constant nagging in Greece about the shipyards and the demand that we "must build 3 ships here",it's ridiculous. We haven't sold Elefsina's problems for years and years and they still want to build ships here. We're talking about the defence of the country, they should let the foreigners build the corvettes and WHEN they solve the problems, they can build whatever they want here. In the future. Bureaucracy, strikes and corruption has destroyed this country.

In all seriousness....aren't you tired of repeating yourself endlessly?

The protection of the Greek frigate FDI HN with its expendable decoys launchers.
The proposed configuration of DLS on board FDI HN consists of two specialized CANTO launchers by navalgroup and four Sylena Mk1 launchers by LACROIX Defense.

On October 21, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice-Admiral Stylianos Petrakis is expected to go to the Lorient shipyards in France in order to attend the introduction ceremony of the first Greek FDI frigate in the so-called "dry dock".
The first Greek frigate is in an advanced phase of construction, while the second is following at a furious pace. The same is the case with the third ship which is being built ahead of schedule.
Naval Group vindicates Hellenic Navy that it was the only company that offered shipbuilding so soon and immediately without delays and technical risk.

From yesterday's official presentation of the Greek FDI by Naval.
@Foinikas are mentioned the ECM and the RF/IR decoys.

Did they say anything about the ECM system that the ships will have?

No, it wasn't mentioned,
Today,I heard on TV that we should install SCALP Navale on the FDI.

I thought of it and saw the range of the SCALP Navale and it could really be a good weapon to keep Erdogan in check and stop him from bragging too much about ballistic missiles and Turkey's strategic depth.
