Beijing Olympics 2022: Discussion and Update

There in Greece you have won a total of ZERO - 0 medals from the Winter Olympics for your entire history. Its save to say that Greece is totally irrelevant in terms of Winter sports and Greeks have no interest in it at all.
He’s completely delusional to the point it is frightening. Him talking about how China is devastated that it didn’t get Greece’s blessing is like a neckbeard dwelling in his mom’s basement ranting about his crush losing out while she gets taken out for dates on private yachts. Lmao the fucking delusion.

Beijing by itself is a far more massive economy than all of Greece, like anybody misses their inconsequential diplomats there. Lol

That Greek rube thinks the James Webb Space Telescope is European even though 90% was funded by the American taxpayer.

Greece is an insignificant ant with a smaller GDP than Pakistan. Greece is a nice place for a 2 week vacation. That’s about it.

Pelosi fears ‘for the physical safety’ of US Olympic athletes who speak out against Chinese communist regime

I don't see any reason or never seen any sportsman getting involved in politics, speaking against any political party, government or State unless apartheid or illegal occupiers. Only US will do that. Wanted ask if US sent the athletes or some Democrats to participate.

The most wasteful ghost game ever

Your statement is based on what ? Budget ?
Budget of Beijing 2022 Olympics is US$3.9 billion, while budget of Tokio 2020 Olympics was US$35 billion that is nearly 10 times higher. So which Olympics were wasteful ?
The fact that China menaged to organize such great Olympics with such low budget is telling.

Ghost Games ? Just because some imperialist sourgrapes didn't come ? That's their loss. Barking dogs of Anglosaxon imperialism (pro US media) will try to denigrate China and other freedom-loving countries no matter what.

Time is too short. I hate people wasting money wasting money, no matter whether $4 billion or $40 billion. Who will watch the games in the time like this? Chinese have too much money. There are too bad games. Greece went bankrupt.

So again, why did you said that Beijing 2022 Olympics are "most wasteful ghost game ever" ?

I watch the games. I suspect winter sports are not very popular in Vietnam but they are popular in Poland.

I think his opinion is that spending money for sports is a waste. It is more relevant to pragmatism.

Maybe in his opinion, the investment of 4 billion USD into semiconductor industry, electronics, artificial intelligence, computer science...Using money to sponsor scientists and engineers, it offers more benefits for China, better than the import of foreign athletes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is a controversial perspective, because many people believe that spending money for sports is a better thing, because it brings a gold medal, and helps improve China's soft power

if a single athlete inspires just 1000 people to eat better, exercise more, and saves them 1 instance of severe disease like obesity, heart problems, etc. over the course of a lifetime, they've already made their money back.

It is a positive thinking. Hope that happens.
