Iranian chief of staff Major General Baqeri arrives in Moscow, New military deal on the way

Because if some day push comes to shove and the US wants to attack Iran, NATO will have to follow along because of their ties with the United States. And you cannot buy weapons from a potential enemy. Basically, for the same reason that Pakistan does not buy Indian weapons, or the United States does not buy weapons from Russia directly, etc.

That's already based on the very unrealistic assumption that Iran could offer them a deal so profitable that would tempt them to sell weapons to Iran.

Plus, Iran still has an open lawsuit against the UK for failure to deliver weapons purchased before the revolution.

Yes but UK is out of EU. EU is building their own Military not to rely on NATO. NATO is practically dead that is why AUKUS was created to confront China. EU is promoting their own Euro as the currency, will have their own military and are using their own payment system. EU would be pretty independent of the US & UK in the next few years. EU has sold arms to China in the past which is the biggest treat to the US in this century. I am very positive that they would sell arms to Iran as well. EU desperately needs Oil and Gas.

I'm quite skeptical as to whether the EU will truly move toward actual independence from the US regime, but let's assume this will be the case. It still doesn't imply per se that the two parties are not going to share similarly hostile views on Iran. Not least because for the Europeans, gaining autonomy vis a vis Isra"el" or feeling less obliged towards the zionists will prove even more difficult than ridding themselves of the American yoke. Arming Iran is anathema to states this close to and this influenced by the zionists. Zionists, their lobbies and their supporters (at every level: political, cultural, societal, economic / financial) would treat this as a huge scandal.

Yes, but the UK is one of the European signatories of the JCPOA.
Even after the JCPOA, they have continued to refuse to pay compensation for our previous contracts. They have to pay Iran £400M, if I'm not mistaken.

As for the European Union, Germany is considered by the most experts to be the most influential country in the EU. Remember when Trump said they wanted to pull US troops out of Germany and how Merkel strongly insisted that the US troops should remain in Germany?
The truth is that the European Union is powerful only as an economic bloc and it does not have the means to defend itself against Russia, or a future Eastern bloc if world war III ever happens. France can throw temper tantrums as much as it wants, but the Europeans know that NATO, in fact the United States, is their only hope of remaining militarily relevant against adversaries like Russia and China at the moment.
EU needs oil and gas, but there are other considerations as well. The EU needs the US and her allies (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, etc.) way more than they need Iran. Some European countries may want to sign deals with Iran, but they do not want to risk US secondary sanctions either. If they do not dare to sell us civilian products, how would they sell us military equipment?

The EU has some of the richest countries in the world.

The idea that they wouldn't be able to afford to build a deterrence force against Russia is ludicrous.

EU relies on Russian gas because of basic geography and due to it being the least expensive, as they have done since soviet times.

If they wanted to, they could simply build a pipeline to the middle east.

Most likely the EU countries simply are not united enough to form a coherent and consistent foreign policy.

Collectively? Yes.
However, do explain how countries like Bulgaria or Romania are rich.

Countries like Germany and France add to the importance of the European Union. Other than that, the majority of countries in the EU cannot defend themselves even against Turkey, let alone Russia.

In a possible (highly unlikely but possible) scenario for World War III, China and Russia will be allies. Without the United States, each country alone is more than enough to invade half of Europe with the current conditions. They can build a pipeline to the Middle East, but the safety of that pipeline is very questionable. China and Russia both have strong presence in the Middle East, and without the US, Europeans have in reality no presence in the Middle East to defend their interests. France tried to take advantage of the Beirut explosion to enter the Mediterranean region through one of its former protectorates, but it was cock-blocked by Iran. If Iran can do that to France in Lebanon, imagine what China or Russia can do.

The EU's militaries are a laughingstock currently because they want it to be like that and plan on being in the U.S. block for the indefinite future.

If they actually were serious about decoupling from U.S. security guarantees, they would easily arm up and be a formidable force.

But France, Italy, Sweden, UK, Germany, Ukraine, Turkey are all doing Business with Pakistan which is also considered a threat to Israel. In fact Pakistan is the only Muslim nuclear power which can destroy Israel. So selling arms to Iran will be a lesser threat compared to selling arms to Pakistan. Am I missing something here?

Europe Simply is under American boots.

The main reason to turn a blind eye on ISIS take over of Syraq and also occassionally helping terrorists in middle east spreading chaos all over the region was energy resources of Middle East. They tried to topple Assad for same pipeline that you mentioned mostly to loot the country.

USA is a necessary evil in case of EU keeping the Wild European dogs away from massacring one an other.

Well, at least you agree that they are currently a laughingstock. So, we don't have an argument there. But why do they want it to remain like this? Can you think of a good reason?

You may say that it's because of energy dependence on Russia and the US allies. But whatever the reason is, the European Union in its current status seems incapable of defending its interests.

US sanctions on Iran were a great opportunity for the EU to increase the share of Euro in the reserves of the central banks in the world. But they didn't do so.
US war in the Middle East was a great opportunity for the EU to improve its military, but they didn't do so.
US sanctions on Iran were a great opportunity for the EU to secure cheap oil and energy from Iran for more than a decade. But they didn't do so.

And I'm talking about Iran only because I know Iran's situation well. The European Union has missed a lot of such opportunities with other countries as well.

While a pipeline from turkey through Syria would probably be preferable, there's nothing stopping them from simply building a pipeline through the Mediterranean through Israel and Jordan instead.

The part about Europeans not ripping each other to shreds is a thing, but they are already in a loose Franco/German Empire already, so it's not that disharmonious currently anyways.

The World Wars happened primarily due to the Anglo Saxon bloc wanting Europe disunited (as is tradition).

Incompetence and being relatively content with the status quo due to the difficulty of wrangling cats that is the EU is probably the most likely reason.

I see "EU Russian Energy Dependence" talked about alot, but the facts on the ground say that Europe is very close to the middle east geographically and a pipeline could be done if they wanted to pay more than the Russians are charging.

Two of Europe's biggest countries Germany and Italy have been occupied by the US since WW2, so they are hardly independent nations. The rest are a motley assortment of tiny puppet states who could hardly field an army, let alone stand up to Russia, let alone China.

Majority of EU countries (except for some Baltics etc.) do not see Russia as a threat and do not want to fight Russia. That is why NATO is dying and losing its relevance.

You cannot simultaneously believe that Iran can deter the United States while also believing that "Europe is Ripe for the Picking" for Russia.
