What's new

Nearly 4 in 5 Pakistanis say that they have not watched any Indian movies in the past year: Gallup & Gilani Pakistan

These series are on internet for several years. But why people prefer them more than Indian content is the real question. Pakistanis have more in common with Indian content than Turkish history. How many Pakistanis watch Turkish comedy or talk shows?? Zero.

I believe one reason is several Pakistani YouTube channels have filled the vacuum left by Indian content in Pakistan. Every one has a smart phone and has a choice of watching whatever he or she likes, unlike in the past when one TV at home would be watched by every one.
Our TV shows and dramas are better than indian ones.
History series gap is filled by Turkish ones.
But also nowadays, indian movies content is not that good ,their drama industry is already failed one, movies industry is also losing its pace.
Also nowadays Pakistani movies are also good like Actor in law, wrong number, operation 021 ,jawani phir nahi ani ,lahore to Karachi type movies are getting attention of pakistani audience nowadays.

I stopped watched anything Indian about 10 years ago, and am careful not to buy any Indian products whenever possible. I wish all Pakistanis to do the same.

I have not seen an Indian movie for 30 years ! And I DO NOT intend to watch this absolute Indian FILTH for as long as I live on this planet. :stop:
Unfortunately your sentiment is not shared by many. In UK Pakistani's flood to see Bollywood releases. Most Pakistan's have very weak sense of national identity. In UK I have seen Jinnah Restaurent, Lahore restaurent etc peddled as 'Indian'. Just look at the irony.
Pakistanis have more in common with Indian content than Turkish history.
You jusrt busted the Two Nation Theory.

In past one year all theatre in India were mostly closed and , the Survey results hold true even in India..

Bollywood has gone from bad to worst trying to copy Hollywood. Weak shallow stories, bad music and fake culture,

Audience likes to see reflection of their society in their movies. A good relatable movie or drama. No one wants to see ultra rich Whitewash Hero with 6 packs and imported half Indian Heroines performing unrealistic stunts.

People want to see average person life in an artistic way , struggling Dark Indian looking characters they can relate too.

I think there hasn't been any major releases in the past year. Regardless, I haven't watched any Indian movie for a long time. The last movie I had seen was PK (2014).

Late 1980s, throught 1990s and early 2000s Bollywood was a big hit with British South Asians. There use to be many videos shops renting Bollywood films on VCR films and selling cassettes of Bollywood songs.
Gradually the craze has died out. Nobody really watches or pays attention to Bollywood, probably because it become too obscene with sexual content. Another downfall was the anti muslim hatred constantly attacking muslims and brandishing Pakistan as the enemy.
Even my relatives in Pakistan have distance themselves from the Bollywood nonesense.

Since Covid, there have been very few Indian movies / dramas. Those that came were available at OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc
But obviously the viewership on these platforms is limited given the subscription cost involved.

I am sure some of the Pakistanis would have seen Indian dramas - The Family Man, Mirzapur etc on Prime.

Garbage material vulgar :coffee:

No interest since Indian actors voiced their blind support for harming Kashmiri indigenous population
Mean while on TV shows same actors are seen crying rabbit's tears if someone farts
  • Person 1 : I farted
  • Person 2 : Teary eyes , I feel your pain
  • Person 1: Starts crying , I am guilty and horrible
  • Person 2: Come here , come here give me hug

a) Music producers got replaced by beat box
b) Stories became vulgar , unnatural , or unrealistic no connection with anyone on street
c) Vulgar , dance segments for sake of ticket sales , absolutely horribly lyrics
d) The Actor's stance against Kashmiri people completely turned me off Indian movies
e) Anti Pakistani stance of actors , of course killed it off as well

Me and my whole family and our circle of friends know that this hate is in our hearts forever. India made the biggest mistake in history.India broke us in 1971. It will pay the price for this. India's mistakes are unforgivable and we will never forget them.Seeing the aggression of India in Kashmir and Asam. How India is supporting BLA PTM jaiy sindh org. I am waiting for orders to strike against India. I refuse to second guess my decision. This is just how deeply we hate them.
